No Im not sure why the spreadsheet indicates I was transferred. I was never transferred and file was approved at Texas itself on Valentine's Day. When I called USCIS< they initially said oh your file is transferred, but they were completely wrong. Angela said my file never went anywhere after going to Texas.

Ah, ok – Saylin, how dare you make a mistake on the spreadsheet? Just kidding :P

So I guess nobody who was transferred back to CSC and got approved there has received a case number... I'm not getting impatient yet, but it seems a little slow for CSC.

Well that's weird then. I thought I read somewhere about a transfer to CSC. Guess not! Please don't fire me :( *goes to correct spreadsheet*

That's very quick – congrats! On the spreadsheet, it says you were transferred back to CSC on February 10, so you got approved by CSC? If that's the case, you would be the first approval out of bunch transferred BACK to CSC to get an NVC case number (according to the spreadsheet, that is). I've been calling the AVR every day, nothing yet. I was approved by CSC on February 11.

nothing yet here either, but I wasnt expecting a case number until sometime next week so I am on track ;) I was sent to the NVC on feb 16th

7/2/10- NOA1

2/9/11- NOA2 (transferred to Texas)

NVC

2/28/11- case number received

3/2/11- Paid AOS bill

3/5/11- Paid IV bill

3/12/11- expedite to Bogota consulate approved!!!

3/14/11- left NVC to Bogota for further processing

3/17/11- received by Bogota, emailed consulate and was told to send DS-230 and DS-2100 (packet 3)

3/18/11- packet 3 emailed to Bogota consulate, email confirmation on March 23

3/31/11- Interview date! Approved!!!!!!

Keep the faith, everything works out for the very best

Sorry about that, I usually only add people that post in the NVC threads, but I added you on that spreadsheet. I don't care about the date you sent the DS-3032. Just when you send the AOS and IV packets.

This whole process is really frustrating and one cannot make any sense to how USCIS does anything.

I got an email stating that our petition was transferred form TSC to NVC on February 10th, 20 days ago, and we still DO NOT have an IIN assigned to us. But there are others that had there petitions forwarded from TSC to NVC on the 14th and 15th who have called the automated NVC line and they HAVE there IIN?

The whole system needs and enema!!

With tomorrow being a Federal holiday and I will have to wait until Tuesday to speak to a human at NVC to find out what is going on.

Also, because our government is so screwed up, the budget crisis is threatening to shut down non vital services, this includes USCIS!! This is the PERFECT STORM of Government incompetence.

Ok, I'm confused. You say the case was entered on the 18th, but in your signature it says the 17th. Which one was it? I'd like to be accurate for the spreadsheet!

I received an email from Angela Barrows today telling me that my petition was approved on the 11th (knew that) and was forwarded to the NVC on the 16th (didn't know that). So it looks like cases that were approved by CSC at or around the same time as mine were not shipped right away, just FYI! It was really nice of Angela to give me an update even though I hadn't asked for one since I first emailed her on the 11th.

I think I am going to do the EP, and you probably did the same thing. Did you still send the optin email to NVC with the signed and scanned DS-3032? I know there's now a new online process, so I'm not sure which steps I am supposed to keep/eliminate. Thanks in advance!!!

[ I apologize ahead of time for the long response laughing.gif ]

Yes, I did EP.

You have to send an optin still, but with no DS-3032. Subject line: OPTIN MTL2011XXXXXX. Make sure you have "OPTIN" at the beginning of the subject line, then fill in the X's with the rest of your case number. For the body, just put petitioner's name, date of birth, email address and the same info for the beneficiary. Send it to NVCElectronic@state.gov

For the DS-3032, there's an online version for Canadians that is required. It's called the DS-261. Once that's available, fill it out and submit it. If you want to see screenshots of the form that I took, check them out here: http://s128.photobucket.com/albums/p174/smurf47/Immigration/DS-261%20screenshots/

Paying the AOS fee is the same. Once it appears, you then scan all your AOS forms and documents and email it to the same address as the optin that I mentioned before.

Now, since you're in Canada as well, there's a new DS-230 form that's online that is required for you to fill out. That online form is called the DS-260. Once the IV bill appears as paid, you can then start filling out the form online. Screenshots can be found here: http://www.docstoc.com/docs/49845403/DS-260-screen-shots I highly suggest you check them out as there is some info required that is not asked on the DS-230. I spent quite a few hours getting that extra info. When it does come around time to fill out the DS-260, if you have all your info at hand, it should take you around an hour to fill out. Once you're done and submit it, you can then email the scanned documents (passport pics, birth cert., marriage cert., police cert., and copy of passport) to the same email address.

And that's a brief summary of what you have to do if you do EP. If you don't do EP, it's the same process but you snail mail your AOS and IV documents and you don't send the optin email. You'll still have to do the online forms even if you don't do EP as it's required regardless now of Canadian spouses.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask ;)

Oh Saylin what would we ever do without you?! LOL to your "long response time".

I'm the petitioner for my canadian hubby and I have been the ONLY one researching this process and it's a lot of info for only one person to know how to do...then of course having to explain it all to my hubby.

Now if only tomorrow weren't a holiday here, I could get my IIN!

Thanks Saylin, I might be bugging you some more in the next 4 months.
