So I called this morning like I said I would and of course no answers can be given to me. Just "I'm not sure, send it all again" WHAT? They have no sign of it in the system!!!! How do you lose an email? I think it's ridiculous. I mean It's not a crazy hassle since it's electronic and I can just resend the files, but I can only imagine how it feels for the people who have to mail these things in and this happens...how annoying!

I do have to provide a copy of my DS-2019 from my J1 visa I had a few years ago, so I guess either way I would have got an RFE, but come on state it for the right things. They basically are asking me for both packages as if they didn't receive it.

I will add to the good news! My husband got his visa approved today! He has to go back on Monday to pick up his passport and envelope! I haven't had the chance to have a lengthy convo with him about the interview but he did mention that they grilled him about our relationship. I'm gonna ask him for details later and post again!

Anyway, it's a good day!

I agree! You were super helpful, Saylin! And congrats!!

GREAT NEWS!!!! Congrats

Hello all,

Sorry, been a bit busy lately. Wanted to drop in and say congrats to EVERYONE that has gotten approved, or has there loved ones with them right now. We're being a little slower then most of you, but then the baby is due August 8. And just to let ya all know, on the first Ultra-Sound to check to see if it's a boy or a girl, we've been told it's a Girl. So we're just moving along slowly, but surely. Just wanted everyone to know, we're still here, and checking in. We're right there with everyone of course.

Talk to you all very soon!

Thomas and Mavil

I know exactly how you feel. The same thing happened to me. When they send you a checklist of all the docs it usually is because they have not inputted your docs into thier system yet. They then input the docs and if they actually find something missing they will send another checklist for that one. In my case it was proof of legal residence in Canada so i sent it in as soon as i found out they needed it and they just received it today, 2 weeks later so if you can, send the copy of they DS-2019 as soon as possible because this will hasten your process. Good luck.

We paid the AOS fee and the IV Application fee via NVC's online payment system. I'm wondering if they are going to ask for more money at the consulate on the day of the interview.

For IR-1/CR-1 cases, there's no other fees to be paid at the embassy/consulate. You might have to bring an envelope or money for courier service. Yeah, I just checked, and according to the interview guidelines for Frankfurt (found here: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3742.html), you have to bring €4.25 in stamps (not cash). Other than that, there is no extra fee.

I read a review that said "we had to pay $400". Perhaps a bribe? Didn't make sense to me. Thanks.

It was either for a K1 visa or they didn't pay the fees at NVC.
