hey guys i have a question and i hope someone can help me. my husband poe is going to be Newark, NJ and he is flying from India would he need to have a visa to travel through UK or any other European country to get to Newark? Since his green card is only going to be valid once it is stamped at poe can he still travel through UK or any other European country without a visa for that country? thanks!!

like Saylin said, no need to be interviewed at POE...I flew back with her so that is why I was interviewed ;)

Sorry to hear of your experience at POE. Brow-beating people and then letting them through is passive-aggressive and an inidcation of a sense of weakness. There's a difference between asking matter-of-fact questions and then drawing conclusions as opposed to editorializing, which has no place in the conduct of an officer of the law.

Obviously a CBP officer can ask questions. But they aren't really in a position to gather all the evidence THEY would need to satisfy themselves of the legitimacy of a marriage. The govt. has already had the chance to do that prior to visa issuance.

You can travel through any country providing you do not enter that country. As your hubby will be staying within the airports, he will not technically be entering any country other than his final destination - the USA.

Hi guys..I finally get to catch up with you and see that a lot of the our fellow TSC refugees have CC's. Congrats, and may God be with you on your interviews. Almost done!! I am soo happy for you, guys!!

As for us, we request that you include us in your prayers, as well...(Where else can I vent but with those I have struggled in TSC with??..)

We are still waiting for SIF and CC, but we are not in a rush, as I have been having difficulties with the Dad of my children, who refuses to sign the Affidavit allowing the kids to come here, when all he does is provide for their finances and is not really there for moral guidance ( he leaves the children with the caretakers and takes off). Cant do court case, as it will take years and drain our finances..so for now we can only hope and pray..

I hope when the interview sched comes, we have already come up with the affidavit..

Sorry for venting..I know its a happy time for most of you, and I know there will be people here who will still include us in their prayers. I so miss the children.

How are you, Lara? I hope the best for you and your baby as well..

Hi ezzie: I'm good , just waiting for may 6th to go to Santo Domingo, my baby had the medical and it was everything ok. we got the interview open , so we ask (my husband and i)in our jobs and we got that week to do the interview and everything. we planed to go for interview on may 9th . happy but nervous at the same time.

i got the affidavit from the father , but to travel with her, I'm going to have an affidavit from the court. if you are divorce and you have your certificate , i don't know how is in your country. but in my country you can get an authorization from court if he don't want to give you the affidavit . find out another options , God Going to help you to find out the best one for you and your baby.

Good Morning Everyone, 9 days left :)

agree with everything you said...he flat out told me that he had his doubts and continued to make judgmental remarks based on my wifes hand shaking and my low income. I said its hard times right now and yeah I have taken temp jobs just to get some money...but who cares? I had a co sponsor so I have no idea why this factored into anything. Whatever though...Orlando POE basically blew. I advise against anyone going through that airport as their POE, and if you are, I guess play like you are super happy and excited and dont act nervous at all AND try to avoid CO Thompson at all costs lol. That was the lesson I got out of that one...

I'm wondering how to buy the airline ticket. One-way ticket seems like it is 5x the cost of a round-trip ticket. Can I buy a round trip and then just not use the return leg? I heard this was against the rules, but will the airline be able to figure it out? Do you have to supply the airline with Visa info when coming into the US?

bsolutely. When I finally came to the US on my H1-B in 1997 I bought a return flight. The return leg was never used. No problem. It also saved me about 200GBP at that time. How is it against the rules. The airline is more than happy to have you not show up for your return flight. They've already been paid and have probably oversubscribed the flight on the expectation that some won't show up.

Coming from Germany I doubt they'd care because almost everyone is eligible for the VWP anyway. If you tried to fly with a one-way ticket they'd want to see the visa that allowed that. That's just them covering their butts because they're responsible for taking you back if the US denies entry.

No news about interview date for me. My case had been approved by mumbai consulate for expedite but they are giving hard time to my wife. My wife tried to submit the packet 3 via courier and they did not accepted the courier. The courier agent was told that packet has to have specific individual name in consulate who is working on wife's case. Now how its possible for her to know that who is working on her case at consulate level. its been 10 days and we are completely confused and clueless about submitting packet 3. Mumbai consulate still uses outdated packet inofrmation.
