My timeline just says the date I sent out the expedite request. I didn't hear back about it. I called 2 days ago they told me the request was pending still.
When you call NVC AVR, and it says your case has been completed and sent to embassy on .....If not, yur case is still with NVC. I looked at your timelines, and it says your case has been accepted for expedites. Are you? You should call NVc and talk to an operator about your case.
SIF means your case is completed. That is the first sign. Watch out for a message on the AVR tomorrow, and confirm with an operator. You are on your way to consulate.

Double, treble check you are entering the correct reference numbers. If you are, and it's still SIF, then call NVC (they are still open), and they should confirm your case is complte. We called within 15 minutes of SIF, and they had just gotten it on their screen.

I am 99% sure, if you entered the numbers correctly, that you are done and complete. If they received your docs 8 days ago, that's about the correct time frame.

I hope it is - best of luck, and let us all know.

P.S. It's Gary at the moment LOL good.gif

Your case is completed. You will be hearing very soon regarding your interview date. Expedites generally help when you just got into NVC. I am not sure if my expedites gonna hurt me or not, when consulate receives my expedites. NVC took 8 days to send my process to embassy after expedite approval. My case was about to get completed in NVC. I have noticed that Xeleance is the only person who got the interview day so early. Others are treated as normal processing times (interview after 1 month). I hope you will get your interview day sooner.

Yes, expedite through NVC doesn't really speed up things if the paperwork has been started - in fact, it can hold up procedures whilst the expedite is under review. Where things do speed up, is when the case is cleared at NVC.

Rather than the NVC setting the interview date, the docs are sent straight to consulate for expeditious scheduling by the embassy.

That doesn't make any sense. I could have had an interview date under normal processing time while they reviewed the expedite request? It's been 1 week since I sent the request.

I have to (respectfully) disagree with both of you. My expedite was approved right around the same time that I paid my IV fees. NVC sent it straight to the Consulate. The US Consulate in Brazil (Rio) has a waiting time of 4-7 months before you get an interview.... My interview date is scheduled for May 23rd, which is 49 days after they received the package from NVC and... we don't have to mail in the IV packet... The instructions are to bring the IV packet (DS-230 and civil documents) with her to the interview. 49 days versus 4-7 months??? I'll take the expedite. :)
