CSC to TSC to NVC: the Saga continues

Our AVR message in the NVC has changed yesterday to "We have received your checklist???(hard to understand), please allow 6-8 weeks for processing." We have sent to NVC both packages through our lawyer two weeks ago and received acknowledgement of the receipt by NVC immediately then. What this message could mean? I could not understand the two words in the message and they sounded to me as "check list", but am not too sure.

Anyone please advise? I believe they are now reviewing our AOS and IV packet and if no RFEs the case will be closed in the next couple of days. Am I correct?

Thank you everyone. Soooo close! Excitement!

I should ignore the AVR - they make no sense. See my experience this morning, and we got case closed. They are working on your case, don't worry - it is close!

Does anyone see any shipments in April? i only see shipments for ref# EXP 31 MAR 2011A

Could that be because of the weekend? There are no April cases yet that I see either.

I'm looking for cases to be called in later today. I think the DHL list will show shipments dated the 4th or 5th sometime tonight. Hopefully, ours and Jenny's will be on there. Is you case due to be sent I & M?

Should we have the 2010 Federal Income Tax Return, W2, IRS transcript for the interview!? Not sure if we can get it by April 18th! We have the 2009/2008/2007 documents.:unsure:

If your interview is after April 18th, then yes, you need to have a copy of your 2010 tax return and copies of all W2s. You do not need the 2010 tax transcript, but as long as you have a copy of the 1040 and W2s, you're perfectly fine.

I'm pleasantly surprised. We just got our NOA2 on March 25th and on Monday April 4th NVC sent us an email with our NVC case number, IIN and beneficiary ID number. That was only 6 business days after being approved at USCIS. I'm excited that it's progressing so quickly.

The only downside is they had my maiden name on the paperwork even though we filled out everything with my married name, but I was able to call and get ahold of a customer service representative and she told me to send a pdf copy of my new passport and explain that I'm using my married name now, so it should be okay.

Grats! kicking.gif 10 days total is faster than the average for TSC refugees.

CONGRATS ERICK!! Bring on the day I receive that email LOL!!

NVC are OK - unless something goes wrong....

JUST received THIS email....

The NVC has received the requested Immigrant Visa Application (DS-230). However, we are still

waiting for the response to the checklist letter for the Affidavit of Support (Form I-864). Please return

the requested information so that we may complete the processing of your case.

The checklist in question asked for a copy of Val's $200 bank statement. We have sent this three times - twice by email, once by snail mail. They have acknowledged receipt of all items. Now we get this email......

I mean, just what is going on here? People are ill, Val could lose our house, and they are asking for a $200 bank statement they have had three times?headbonk.gifheadbonk.gif

AND THIS is what they call expedite???

A thing about emails, they're not sent out IMMEDIATELY. There can be a delay. The emails are sent out through an automatic system, so that email might have been generated BEFORE you sent in the response.

VJ Fam, my case was completed at the NVC yesterday! Just found out this morning! The operator said that April is too full to schedule interviews so I am hoping we get something in May! Just wanted to share the news with everyone! And thanks to all of you who have helped me through this! I sincerely don't know what I'd do without this forum and its members!

Wow, grats! kicking.gif That was a pretty fast NVC journey!

Thank you!!!!

I read in one of NVC guides that it takes 7 - 10 days after case completion to get forwarded to consulate, so hopefully it will be mailed off by next week! Aaahh I'm so excited! :)

Remember, NVC only ships your case to the embassy/consulate AFTER an interview date has been assigned, so it could be longer, depending when you get an interview date assigned.

Do you know if NVC can schedule the interview with the foreign consulate in advance of forwarding the paperwork or will they not schedule an interview until the consulate has the paper in their hands? I'm in the same boat, they have approved but not sent. They are also considering an expedite request I sent last week. I don't know what they are waiting for. How long does it take to schedule an interview over the phone and ship the package?

NVC first schedules the interview. Then a day or so after that, NVC then ships the case to the US embassy or consulate.

For expedites though, it's the other way. They ship the case then the US embassy or consulate schedules an interview.

Confirmed - case closed WAHOOOO!!

We have to call Friday for an expedited interview date!! good.gif

It's about time! Congrats!!! kicking.gifkicking.gif

Our AVR message in the NVC has changed yesterday to "We have received your checklist???(hard to understand), please allow 6-8 weeks for processing." You should read this thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/91567-nvc-automated-messages/ If it's referencing "check list", it's most likely saying they received your IV package.

Look for shipments using the ref for March 31, so EXP 31 MAR 2011A. They call DHL the day BEFORE your case is shipped out and they get a reference number assigned to them of the date they call it in, not necessarily the day they ship it out.

If that doesn't work, try using the ref for April 4, so EXP 4 APR 2011A.

Now I have calmed, and we have gotten through NVC - SAYLIN, I want to pick your brain. What happens at SIF? Does that mean we are going to be shipped to consulate yet? We ARE on expedite, and were told to call on Friday for an interview date - I assume on expedite, London will set the date, hence the docs going there first. I'm looking at tracking the docs, but there is nothing sent in April yet by DHL unless they have changed the tracking numbers criteria. 04, 04 APR doesn't bring anything up.

Secondly, you say that copies of tax returns for 2010 are required. Does that include us that have been processed thru NVC? Will I need to take our 2010 Tax return copy & W2? If so, will I also need to take my joint sponsors latest tax documents to the London interview even though they were processed thru NVC?

Thanks!! I am excited this is coming to a conclusion!!

Yes, since you were expedited, NVC should send your case sometime this week to London, then London will schedule the interview date for you. Since your case was just completed today, it probably won't have shipped yet. Maybe tomorrow.

If you had sent in the 2010 tax returns and W2s with your AOS package, then no you don't need them as they'll have them already. You only need to bring 2010 tax info with you if you didn't submit it to NVC already. Like me, for example, my husband hadn't filed his 2010 taxes by the time we got to NVC, so we had just sent pay stubs and an employment letter, so we're required to bring 2010 tax info for the interview as our interview is after April 18 (deadline for US taxes).

Are you saying that, if my interview is after April 18th, we need to take the 2010 docs in - for both us and my joint sponsor? Ughh - that will be a pain in the a## for the joint sponsor....

I find it extremely weird there are no shipments for ANY April ref numbers. That doesn't make any sense...

Oh, if you hadn't submitted 2010 tax info with the AOS, then yes, if your interview is after April 18, you'll need 2010 tax info, for you and I believe the joint sponsor as well. You can always ask when you call London on Friday. Or maybe you'll get an interview before April 18th and don't need to worry about this ;)
