I sent it on March 5th, got her ITIN number around 19th march and on March 30 i saw the refund in my bank account. I requested the transcript the same day i saw the refund money in my account.

Oh nice that was pretty fast. I had saw on the IRS website it can take something like 8-10 weeks or something for the refund. I believe my husband sent in his tax return a week or two after you so perhaps he'll get his refund back soon as well and we can request the transcript in time for my interview.

true about the owing money part fermat...forgot about that. I dont owe any, they owe me, so I am def. filing for an extension. My wife should have her SSN in about a month, so no point in doing the whole ITIN process in my case. In his case, yeah it prob is better to go ahead and do the ITIN, I agree!

I say #3 is best.

Yes... Married filing single = $700. Married filing jointly (with ITIN) = 2700. Doesn't take a math whiz to figure out which one I'm doing :)

Don't quote me on this, as I have been wrong before (once or twice)... but.... I don't think you have to file an extension if they owe you (only if you owe them)... the guy at the IRS office told me... as long as they owe me... I can wait for up to 3 years to file (and still get a return).

I'm pleasantly surprised. We just got our NOA2 on March 25th and on Monday April 4th NVC sent us an email with our NVC case number, IIN and beneficiary ID number. That was only 6 business days after being approved at USCIS. I'm excited that it's progressing so quickly.

The only downside is they had my maiden name on the paperwork even though we filled out everything with my married name, but I was able to call and get ahold of a customer service representative and she told me to send a pdf copy of my new passport and explain that I'm using my married name now, so it should be okay.

USCIS: 220 days

NVC - 53 days

06/28/2011 - Medical appointment

07/04/2011 - Picked up sealed medical envelope

07/05/2011 - Interview date

07/08/2011 - Received visa

NVC case complete to visa - 42 days

Total from NOA1 to visa - 315 days

Morning all.

Still no end to our madness. We have been on EXPEDITE through NVC since 17th March, and still nothing. We sent a copy of Val's $200 statement which was an RFE. That was received last Wednesday, and so far - nothing other than acknowledging the fact they have received it.

I really don't know what to do any more. It's like TSC, I mean with have 6 medical and 2 hardship letters PLUS the USCIS error of the TSC debacle. USCIS, London and NVC accepted us straight away for expedite, but it has been of no benefit to us at all. David Badger has done everything to help us but to no avail. All NVC keep saying is, they have everything, nothing more is needed and our case is still under review.

What more do we have to do? Sorry for my rant - the whole thing is a total nightmare.

CONGRATS ERICK!! Bring on the day I receive that email LOL!!

NVC are OK - unless something goes wrong....

JUST received THIS email....

The NVC has received the requested Immigrant Visa Application (DS-230). However, we are still

waiting for the response to the checklist letter for the Affidavit of Support (Form I-864). Please return

the requested information so that we may complete the processing of your case.

The checklist in question asked for a copy of Val's $200 bank statement. We have sent this three times - twice by email, once by snail mail. They have acknowledged receipt of all items. Now we get this email......

I mean, just what is going on here? People are ill, Val could lose our house, and they are asking for a $200 bank statement they have had three times?headbonk.gifheadbonk.gif

AND THIS is what they call expedite???

What do they want that they don't already have? It's ridiculous. I feel for you two.... and as always, I will keep you in my prayers. Don't lose hope or faith... your day will come. But, I still feel bad.... I know you guys filed way before I did. I just wish there was something I could do. It's a shame the way they are handling your case.

Hey Erick. You're a kind human being, and the fact I posted is purely to rant. NEVER will we lose faith, and yes, our day will come for sure - it IS insanity - people can only take so much, and with the whole TSC thing, it's becoming almost laughable.

This has JUST cracked me up - I received the email asking for more info around 45 minutes ago. I just checked the AVR, and they say the received the evidence yesterday. So, within one hour, they have told me:

1. They received the evidence.

2. The haven't received the evidence.

Both are wrong, cos the operator actually told us the received the evidence last week....

AND - they only NEED the statement cos we ticked the OPTIONAL box stating we have a bank account (there is $200 in it, and we have a joint sponsor - it is not relevant).

ONE DAY WE WILL PREVAIL - that's if we don't have our house foreclosed on first....

I THINK, this years Tax Return won't be required. We certainly haven't got ours, as it is being processed as we speak. If the Transcripts were the ones used on the I-864, you'll be good with 2007,8, and 9.
