Approved!!!!!!!!!!   We are sooo excited and happy, it was a beautiful day in Bogota (meaning no rain haha) and the woman who interviewed us was one of the nicest people ever. We are so thankful for everything, for all the help my fellow visa journey friends have given us. This was the best anniversary gift ever! It wasn't crowded at all, so we got out of there in less than 3 hours, that is almost record time for the Bogota consulate :D

Congratulation to both of you.

Question for anyone:

I have already filled out the regular I-864, But I recently found out about the I-864EZ. I am the sole sponsor so I should be able to fill out the EZ version right?

1. I filed his I-130

2. He is the only person on the petition

3. All of my income is on my w2.

I don't met any of the criteria of those "who should not file using this form" I know it sounds simple and is a stupid question but I just want to be double sure.

If you will be the only support and don't need to show assets meaning your income is enough to meet than by all means fill out the EZ form.

Just called again to confirm I did have an expedite, and got a very rude operator. I asked him to confirm that it was approved since I hadn't gotten any emails yet and he said yes, you need to give it 48-72 hours to be processed. Then I asked how long does it typically take NVC to send the case to consulate. And he very rudely said " I told you, it takes 48-72 hours". Sheesh!!! :bonk:

- M

Any chance his name was Andrew? I got a very rude operator about 2 weeks ago and I'm pretty sure his name was Andrew.

Just call another operator and ask the same questions. Hopefully you won't get a rude one.

Haha, I don't recall his name because he mumbled it. When he asked me the names for beneficiary I was spelling it so he could understand since our names are easy to pronounce usually, and he stopped me " Just say it, don't spell it." So rude.

side note: I'm still able to sign into the NVC payment portal so I guess they haven't forwarded the case yet.

Yeah, the rude operator I got mumbled his name too, but I thought I had heard Andrew.

The rudeness of some of these operators are astounding.

Next time you call, hopefully you'll get a nice one.

How does the optin acceptance email worded? Will I know clearly that it is accepted? All these e-mails from NVC makes your head spin

Here's the exact email I got. It's definitely clear that it's the optin acceptance, especially since they reply to your optin email and not just a stand-alone email.

Dear Sir/Madam:

Thank you for your interest in processing your case electronically with the National Visa Center (NVC).

Your case has been updated with the email address you have provided to us.

All further communication with NVC will now be done through this email address: NVCElectronic@state.gov.

All documents and forms that we request and require from you should be scanned copies of the originals. The applicant must present all original forms and documents to the Consular officer at the visa interview. Failure to present the required originals at the visa interview will result in a denial or delay in obtaining a visa for the sponsored applicant.

Any questions regarding your petition should now be directed to NVCElectronic@state.gov.
