As Erick said, I'm at a complete loss as well. Have you contacted the US Consulate in Cuidad Juarez and inquired about this? I know you said you spoke with NVC, but sometimes they're not exactly correct in the info they give out.

This sucks.... just when we get out of the CSC-TSC-CSC blackhole called USCIS, and think that we are making progress.... they kick us again. Did you see Saylin's post? She asked you if you contacted the consulate/embassy? They might give you different information than NVC. Contacting them is a GREAT idea.... ultimately, they are the ones that will look at the passport... not NVC. It's worth a shot.

As Erick said, I'm at a complete loss as well. Have you contacted the US Consulate in Cuidad Juarez and inquired about this? I know you said you spoke with NVC, but sometimes they're not exactly correct in the info they give out.

JAMES & ROSA - so sad to hear your plight. It seems a catch 22 situation, and it only came about because of your long wait at TSC.

To cap it all, we have an RFE. I just heard the AVR - more information required - a letter was sent yesterday.

We paid a lawyer good money to avoid this, how can I find out what the RFE is? Will they tell us on the 'phone? The case is expedited too, I just don't believe what we are all going through, the AVR says we may have to wait 6 to 8 weeks for review? What is this all about? Anyone???headbonk.gif

When we sent our AOS package, and then after a few days we mailed IV packet, they got AOS first, reviewed it and when I called to AVR and heard RFE but it was a false alarm. As soon as they entered into system IV package, everything was ok. So if you are on that stage too, dont worry, it is false RFE ;) I think the best way is to send both AOS and IV packages together to save time.

Thanks Skynaut, but our lawyer DID send them together - he insisted on doing that. Has anyone got a false RFE who DID send the two together I wonder? I mean, if NVC only inputted the one yesterday. I can't do ANYTHING until I call in 3 hours time. Nightmare...

Nope, that was the last piece of correspondence you'll ever receive. The US Embassy/Consulate never sends out anything to IR-1/CR-1 visa applicants (unless you do DCF), only NVC sends out things to IR-1/CR-1 applicants.

Thanks Saylin, I thought so, just wanted to make sure :)

So that's it, just medical and interview and we are done! Really? Can't believe it LOL

Don't worry, i think if your lawyer sent them together, it means NVC hasn't yet entered IV packet into system and you got that false RFE. I am sure there is nothing bad, just wait and you will see :) Scary though, huh? :)

Scary, yes. I am a bag of nerves right now, as we REALLY don't want to have to provide any more docs - especially from this end in the UK, as it all takes time. I honestly cannot think of what they could need - though I was always worried my UK divorce decree looks very unofficial - however, it made it through USCIS. I have all sorts going through my mind, but our lawyer must have been happy, and that's what we paid him for. I SO HOPE you are right Skynaut - it's our first wedding anniversary on Sunday, and we are apart. We had SO HOPED for good news to temper the sadness that day will bring. Here's hoping....I just wish the time would pass until 7.30am EST....

Same here.... approved expedite but then received an email (confirmed with AVR) that we had an RFE. I called and spoke with an operator tonight. She said to ignore the AVR and email.... that I should NOT send them anything because they shipped our file to the Consulate in Brazil today. She went on to say that the email (RFE) was sent just prior to them receiving the Expedite approval... but the RFE was because I hadn't sent the DS-230 and civil documents yet. I hope the same is true for you. I would call NVC as soon as you can to verify. Good luck and Godspeed.
