I'm not exactly sure what primary school is (we have different systems in Canada), but under course of study you can put 'academic' and if you didn't receive a degree or diploma, just put 'none'.

When I filled out the DS-260 online, it had a few instructions for education. It said to only include high schools and college/universities. And for high school, put 'academic' in course of study and for colleges/universities put whatever the course of study was. For high school, put 'high school diploma' if you received one for the degree or diploma column and for colleges/universities, put the name of the degree or diploma you got if you received one.

"Using a pencil or felt pen, lightly print your name and Alien Registration Number on the back of each photo."

This is from the instructions of N400 Application for Naturalization

A passport photo has to be printed on photo paper which is like plastic so nothing would leak to the other side. So a Sharpie should be OK.

I have also read that passing a clean eraser on the back of the photo makes it easier to write with a pencil afterwards. And #4 and #6 pencil is easier to write with and the tips should be rounded. hahaha this is like rocket science :rofl::rofl:

Yeah, I'd still never use a Sharpie, I'd be so scared it'd leak through. I'll stick with a blue pen. :D

I had my certificates authenticated, which is just another notary seal/stamp. It is required in Colombia. I did this for the I-130 step and had no issues, and I know that some people did have problems.. but some did not, so it is up to you... however, i wanted to be safe.

Basicly, for a marriage certificate & Birth cirtificate in colombia to be legal it must be Authenticated by el Ministerio de relaciones exteriores/Cancilleria. It is just another signature and a seal that authenticates the Notary's signature and confirms that it is a valid document. just another way to get money out of you...... but, this is only my suggestion....

yeah, I already had them authenticated as well...just hoping I dont get a stupid RFE like some people have got..

I sent my Iv documents half an hour ago. When will I expect to get SIF and CC? I am being anxious now. The more closer the end of the process, the more anxious I am having. Thanks

Grats! When did you send the AOS package? I don't have it written on my NVC spreadsheet...

You should expect SIF and CC in about 2-3 weeks if no RFEs.

I sent on last saturday. I am kinda worried regarding rfe people are having with no grounds. I hope and pray I will get my sif and cc soon as possible.

Thanks to all the members without which I would not have been able to deal with all the frustrations, anger, anxiety, doubt and finally happiness. Everyone was and is awesome and let's hope and pray our spouse would join us soon.

Grats on CC!! kicking.gif

I'm not sure about other countries, but I know for Canada we can get interviews assigned any day during the month, not just the second week. And sometimes the interview is a month from when it's assigned, or two months. So, bottomline, an interview can be assigned any day and for any month; they're not necessarily scheduled the second week for the next month.

Did you get them Apostille? I heard it is not required, but I did sent all my Documents Apostille.....

also, would you happen to know when/how we get notify of the approval... I called NVC and each person i spoke to told me that I needed to wait 20 business days to get an answer... they can not even tell me that if it is in process or even received... my only confirmation is the Post office receipt.... have you had any luck??? the reason i ask is because we are both filing in the same embassy...

You'll either find out about your CC through an operator or the AVR. Just keep calling an operator every day. They'll know when a package has been received and when they're reviewing it. What dates did you send in the AOS and IV packages?

no idea, I havent sent out the packets yet...either way we both can expect a long wait from CC to interview date, which sucks. If we get lucky, we will both get our interviews in June..but July/August is more likely.

I just got this email response after I requested an expedite:

Dear Sir/Madam:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC). The NVC has completed its processing of the visa petition you mentioned in your letter and has forwarded the petition to the assigned US Embassy/Consulate General for further processing.

Please be advised that further forms and/or fees may still be requested by the US Embassy/Consulate to complete the processing of this case. Any further inquiries should be directed to the assigned US Embassy or Consulate General.

Sincerely,

Sam

I have no idea if this means the expedite was granted or not...now I am just confused.
