:bonk:

Hello everyone! I noticed as well that there were hardly any Croatians applying for immigrant visas, at least on this website anyway. I am the American so I couldn't read the last half of this message board (shame on me, I better learn it before we have kids!). My fiancé is Croatian and we are towards the end of the process for the K-1 visa. Our NOA2 was on march 28, and I just found out yesterday our application has just left the NVC and is en route to Zagreb. I couldn't be happier!! I noticed there is not a lot of information about the Croatian embassy process on here... If anyone could help out with ANY advice at all it would be greatly appreciated! For example, how quickly does the process typically go from here on out? Do they assign an interview date? Is the interview relatively painless? I am reallllly hoping my fiancé will be in the US by Memorial Day weekend (may 24-27) because we have multiple family events going on and it would be perfect timing for him to get to know my family better. Any chance of this?

It is so great to see this forum specifically for people dealing with the Croatian embassy! I was reading earlier posts about Croatian weddings and cracking up, we are planning on having a reception in Zagreb in 2014 and I know my family and friends will die when they realize they will be staying up until 5 AM dancing and stuffing their faces:)

Hi and welcome to our site! :star:

Your fiancé is in the best position you can imagine. He can call immediately the embassy and check if they've got his papers. In the same time, he can schedule his medical. It's up to you how fast you can send the documents he needs for his interview, so he can come earlier.

When he calls the embassy, they'll offer him the available dates for an interview. It's usually very fast. The interview is painless...actually I've never heard that somebody wasn't approved. As I said, check the documents that he needs to have for the interview and send them ASAP.

If he wants to pay extra for his medical, he can have the results in 24 hours. It depends from which part of the country is your fiancé, he can choose between 3 doctors; 2 in Zagreb and 1 in Split. I did it with Dr. Goldoni in Zagreb, and she was great!

Check this link, because the informations you need are here.

http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Croatia&cty=Zagreb

Cross the fingers that he'll be here by the time you mentioned!

AandD pretty much explained it all :) Croatian embassy is very easy going and fast. Make sure he has all the relationship proof with him. They will give him copy of his medical after the interview which you will need later for AOS. For us, from the moment they got my package to the interview and approval the time span was less then a month, if I remember correctly. When I was done with my urgent medical exam, they set up an interview date based on when you tell them you wish to travel to US :)

Good luck, just be prepared and dont worry too much, cause everything is rather simple now that the wait is over :)
