Hi Dee,

Welcome to Georgia,

My husband and I live about 20 miles south of Atlanta, just south of the ATL airport and easily accessible by I-75. I've been here for just over 2 years now and love it! Where are you located in Georgia? It would be great to have a VJer Georgia get-to-gether - there are a number of us here.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Hi Karen & Kathryn!

Thank you for your response. It is nice to know there are lots of VJ members living in Georgia.

I and my fiance live in Gwinnett County, I believe you are both more familiar with the place :D , well I 'm trying to get familiar with the area I live now, but not so much chance to go around yet.

Are you both working now? I didn't get temporary employment authorization as I entered the USA through San Fran POE. So, at the mean time I just stay at home ....

But I was trying to get information about working from home, do you have any information about this ?

It would be fun if we could meet one day with all VJ members who lives in Georgia, have you met a few ?

Love,

Dee

Hello fellow Georgians,

I am from Laurens County, which is between Macon and Savannah on Interstate 16, about 2 hours SE of Atlanta.

Have been in Georgia 12 years...boy does the time go fast, but I still do not know much about the state. :(

But a get together sounds great...I usually work weekends so would need to have plenty of notice so I could arrange off.

My husband and I our still working on the visa process...we have our approvals for I-130 and just recently the I-129 but neither have made it to the embassy yet....but hopefully he will be here in the not too distant future.

Welcome to Georgia, Dee, hope you enjoy it here!!! :luv:

Michele

OUR K-3 INTERVIEW WAS ON NOV. 1ST @ 10:00!!!

VISA APPROVED!!!

WE ARRIVE IN THE USA ON NOV. 10TH!!!

Hi all,

I'm up in Canton, Georgia, about an hour north of Atlanta. Maybe we should all get together somewhere

in Atlanta, since it seems to be the most central location for where we all are located. How about the end of September? Let's actually plan to get together, and not just talk about doing it. You know how that goes. I'm free after the 18th of September. (my fiance is actually coming for a 2 week visit starting Monday and he leaves the 18th). I don't mind arranging a time and place to meet, if anyone's interested. I think it's a great idea for VJ'er's to get together. Nice to have other people going through what you're going through and to know you're not completely alone.

I'm not there yet, but I will be! So no meeting up without me, kay? :D

I'll be moving to Dekalb county.

Even though I've been brought up in Cornish rural areas, I've always felt really at home in GA. The only problem is I'm addicted to Wendy's! I'll have to try not to have any before the wedding :innocent:

This sounds great to me....meeting up somewhere in Atlanta is great too. Let's plan it soon!! Joel and I have already met two from VJ...can't wait to meet more of you guys! Everyone post the date(s) that work for you and we'll try to find a common date. Then we can plan something. Most any weekend is great for us so let's hear it from everyone else. :D

I agree, meeting up in Atlanta sounds great! Weekends are good for us, although I already have committments for September 30/October 1st but any other weekend should be fine. Any suggestions about where to meet in Atlanta? At a park? At a restaurant? at a cultural location? at someone's home?
