Hello to all.

I had my CR1/IR1 application sent on May, then recently in november I got the acceptance and I signed in for Electronic Processing to the NVC. I filed for DS260 online and sent all the AOS packets on November 18, I received confirmation email of receipt of that email, however they didn't get back to me after that, until December 22 with an RFE for the DS260 to correct the previous addresses I've lived since I was 16. However, nothing on the AOS Packets.

They were taking so long to get back to me, so I called them yesterday and they came to me with the news that they haven't received the AOS Packets, or the supporting documents for the DS260. I told them we sent them by email on november 18 and that we even got an automated response of email receipt. They simply told me to send them again. Does this happen often with Electronic Processing? I sent them again with through our 2 email accounts, but now I have to wait weeks more?

I sent them in PDF format, one being 9mb and the other 12mb and supporting documents being 13mb. Is there a file size limit for the Electronic Processing?

I also sent them an email on December 9 stating that I had sent all the information, but we did not receive any confirmation or further communication. I did not get a reply to that email either.

I am getting desperate now!! We have a 5 months old now baby, and we need income! I cannot work yet because of this ordeal!! and time is running!

Can I contact my wife's congressman to accelerate things a little bit? He was a neighbor and I think he can be reached easily.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

hmmm - this is troublesome - I not read any mention of payment to the online payment portal.

USUALLY - you (USC Spouse) will first recieve (via email)

an AOS Fee Bill, containing the casefile number and the IIN.

With both, you can log in to the online payment portal, pay stuff.

About 2 to 4 days after a thing is paid, it's marked 'paid' in the portal,

and THEN you download the coversheet for each 'thing' (AOS or IV, depending).

You include the pdf coversheet with the pdf output files that you gen'd for each thing (AOS set, IV set), is different coversheet for each thing.

You mention the DS-260 - but you still have to get those DS-230 and I-864 into the MEP emailbox.

re: resending - yes, it happens - usually the OPT IN email address wasn't linked in with the casefile, so any email coming in via yer email addresses, isn't really noticed.

Strongly suggest to resend (if not recently), then have USC Spouse talk with NVC, get a Human, inquire for casefile status.

Some Links for You (and others)

DS-230 - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html

I-864 - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3730.html

Usually, if the coversheets aren't included with each 'thing', and IF the OPT IN email address isn't 'set' - then anything you send in will mostly just sit there, no action.

---

Finally - not all TeleReps at NVC are trained for Electronic Processing, much less the special Mexico Electronic Processing (MEP) system. You'll need to remind the TeleRep, often, that this is for Mexico Electronic Processing, and remind the TeleRep that yer happy to be on hold whilst he/she looks up the procedures for dealing with MEP casefiles. If the TeleRep is still clueless, ask for a Supervisor, and start over with the litany about MEP.

Greetings,

9Mb and 12Mb files are quite large for any email server. I would recommend breaking them down in to smaller pieces (more individual emails) or compressing/scanning at lower resolution. 200 Dpi or less is usually quite adequate. I have found that 600K per page in black and white is usually adequate for PDF text. If color PDF is needed scan in lowest bit color 600k per page is usually adequate. examine the scan results before you scan of course. I hope this is helpful.

ok - clarifying question - what's the status of payment for the AOS and IV fees?

YEs, I forgot to mention that. All of the payment for AOS and IV have been completed. Everything was done according to their instructions and the Wiki's here. The OPT IN email was sent first, and my wife got the confirmation email for the OPT IN, we then sent the information in the emails mentioned. My email address didn't get an OPT IN, for the supporting documents, I guess I will tell my wife to send them through her email account also. The prior documents were sent with her email account (AOS Packet), and we got an automated response saying that it would be reviewed... this was for emails sent on november 18th.

We sent them again yesterday but I guess we can break them down into smaller documents.

Our email addresses are confirmed, when we called to the NVC, they told us our email addresses and they were correct.

So it would be better for my wife to call and to request a status of the case?

ok - which email address are you sending INTO at state.gov ?

---

at this point - the USCitizen Spouse must call NVC and get this sorted, as something is really wonky.

NVC closes at 11:59 PM EST (UTC-5) so you have some time.

They were all sent to NVCElectronic@State.gov email address. Everytime I sent an email I got the automated response:

This is an automated response. Please do not respond to this email.

The NVC has received your e-mail. We are currently processing in the

order of receipt. Please allow 10 business days for a response.

Please be advised that sending duplicate emails for opt in and mailing

documents via delivery service may have an adverse affect on the amount

of time it takes for us to process your case.

Thank you for your patience.

But never got a response.

phone call, now-ish. something's broken.

Well we called back again to the NVC, and the lady told me that they have received emails yesterday but that she does not know the contents or cannot verify the contents of the emails so we have to wait 20 days for review. However we told her that we sent them in november and she confirmed that they received emails in november however, the review does not say anything about the IV Packet or DS260 supporting documents.

She basically said she can't help, because she does not know the contents of the emails. I asked her what happens if in 20 days after the emails we sent yesterday have been reviewed and still no IV Packet, or anything else????? I mean, it is insane! How do we know they got the info. I asked about guidelines of sent files and said that as long as it leaves my email, they should receive it.. so they should have gotten the documents in first place!!

We are so desperate, is it a drawback if we also send the files phisically? because we did the OPT IN, and they told us not to mail anything?

We are considering calling our congressman, but what can we tell him? Is there a way they can call NVC to see what is going on and accelerate the review???

I've heard on cases here, where a congressman call helped speeding things up.

Thanks!

Hi,

We are having a similar experience and wondered mxrado, if you can give an update of if/how you got your situation resolved?

We never got anything saying they accepted our"OPT IN" email for electronic processing. The people we call are pretty worthless and just keep saying to wait. We finally received today some emails asking to complete the application of support and DS230 supporting documents, which we sent in almost a month ago. So we've sent them in twice now. Any advice?

aeternal - look up member 'saylin' here in the member search tool, then study her posts.

Canadien EP has new twists (DS-260) and some other stuff.
