How's your new girlfriend?

The girls in there were really nasty.

I didn't insult anyone or their loved ones. I asked a question about why he takes that particular stance on his self defense. She offered it up as his tactic to staying safe. I questioned her on it.

How is that insulting or offensive?

Hilarious.

Here is the last site I visited.

http://www.actionagainstviolence.com/2009/02/22/eye-contact-and-self-defense/

It does warn that direct eye contact may cause an attack.

Did you miss the part about criminals determining someone is a hard target?

Also, soldiers not shooting when enemy is charging?

Eye contact, or more importantly, the confidence conveyed by that, is the exact thing you want to express when facing someone who might shoot you.

Google "Lewis Millett" and read that man's story. I personally watched him tell the story of charging hill 180 and bayonetting a Chinaman who was holding a machine gun. "I ran right towards him and he was holding his loaded machine gun up in the air. Hell, I was out of bullets but I just ran right for him and yelled as I charged. All he had to do was lower that machine gun and he would've had me. But I could see the fear in his eyes and I ran right up to him and shoved my bayonet through his face!"

Medal of Honor. I watched that old man's eyes light up as he told that story (and then again a few minutes later when he hopped up into a M-113 and fired off the Ma Deuce just grinnin like a school boy) and I can guarantee you, till the day he died, nobody trifled with him, even if he made direct eye contact!

When I'm at an open house, I do tons of things to ensure my safety. First of all, I don't park in the driveway. I park along the grass on the street, so that no one boxes me in.

I also don't wear any jewelry of significant value.

I don't bring my purse inside with me, it's either left at home or locked in the trunk. Keys are in my pocket.

I keep groups of people together - they are not allowed to split up within the house. I also let them walk first into each room. It makes em actually feel like I'm being polite, but the thing is, I'm always near a door.

And I have the triple action pepper spray - pepper spray, tear gas, and a UV dye.

The way that you questioned looks offensive, at least to me. I am not basing that off any other thread interactions between you and R-Jo because I am not aware of even the other one mentioned (up a few posts). Oh well, I doubt you will suddenly start replying in a different manner. I am just someone who likes seeing people be nicer, which is probably not an appropriate expectation for P&R or Off Topic! And it would ruin many ppl's entertainment I guess.

I said it sounds like he's scared of his new country and so is she? Is that what you're referring to?

How is that negative or insulting?

When folks purposefully avoid certain areas of their community or avoid direct eye contact as a tactic to avoid confrontation that typically means they're fearful of something. That's not an insult.

Ah yes.

Your "real life" story of a combat scenario trumps anyone else's real life story.

Brilliant.

Do you have training on it's proper use?

All of those are smart things to do. I'd suggest having a check-in time as well. If you don't call someone by a certain time they should check on you at that location. Carrying a gun with your pepper spray would help your safety too.

All your real life stories belong to your husband.

My combat story was in response to a poster's link (which I doubt you read) where combat stories were quoted.

Um. That's not what you did.

And the more you keep spinning it the more ridiculous you look.

I'm waiting for the bit where this becomes relevant.

when I am in combat in the ghetto I pull out my bazooka and threaten to blow the gangstas away if they don't get out my way. I'm hard like that.

Is the ghetto when you go to K Mart instead of Nordstroms? :P

Yep I do have proper training on it. And I do use a call in system as well.

In fact, I have a huge call in system in place when I show prop, especially for new peeps. First of all, everyone gets prequalified with my mtg broker. Firstly, it's for my time...after all, if you only qual for $200k, I'm not showing you $300 k properties. Or if you don't qualify at all, I'm not wasting my time. But it also serves a really important safety purpose; if you're going to rob/attack me, chances are you aren't going to give my guy your ss#.

Then I get a photo id and take a copy of it 'for the file'.

Then I map out the itinerary, with a list of the houses, and the order that we see them, I leave it at the front desk, and I also email a copy to my mom, lol. There are set times that she, or someone from the office will call me. Now in the case where let's say I'm getting mugged. My phone rings...I say 'if I don't answer that, they're going to send the cops'. Well, let's say i have a gun to my head. I can't really shout out 'help help' so my code phrase is 'the red file is in the third drawer' which translates to 'i'm in trouble at the third house'

I also have gps tracker on my phone. And I don't take anyone in my car, they follow me.
