Could be what happened. All the more reason to NOT wait until 180 days and get a senator involved now since the original application date was March 7 - 3 months earlier than the June people who are still waiting.

Good E&K - glad to hear you've already got a senate contact. Fingers crossed and wishing you good luck - as soon as you have that damn RFE your approval will follow.

97 days today.

I am beginning to think there is criteria for why some move frmo NOA1 to NOA2 in 20 versus 120 days.

I am curious to hear from someone who is approved in, let's say, a reasonable time of 40 days. We all hear alot from those of us who wait, and wait, and wait.

What I would like to know is what characteristics do these quick approvals have in their applications.

I don't believe in "random" and therefore "feel" like there is something on the applications that is making some move faster than others?

Petitioner's career? gender? age? age difference? marital status?

There must be some criteria that is used to cause the SC to look at a specific petition.

NOW, having said this, it won't help us, the 100 club and the close-to 100 club members, but it can help others who are just starting to plan their lives if they know the time window they are in (instead of just a time warp). Just to say "plan on 6 months" doesn't quite cut it. If I plan on 6 months and it is 2, that also creates problems; selling the house etc., etc., etc. of course sooner is better than later.

Good luck to all,

Gordon

This was my response to your other post about this:

Although we all want to understand why some petitions are approved faster than others, I have a very hard time believing that there are things that make petitions move faster - in general. Since there is a very clear list of what needs to be provided, each petitions is reviewed for those items. Barring any reason for RFE or name hit, each petition USED TO BE processed in the order received in a relatively normal and timely fashion.

Since career, gender, age, etc. are not factors affecting approval or denial, it would be hard for me to believe they can use these items to either speed up or slow down the process. I think the reality has more to do with time of year and all of the other ####### happening. For example, at CSC right now it's not only the fallout from IMBRA, it's also the numerous transfers of petitions from NSC and now VSC combined with people quitting their jobs there since their contracts are up next month and have not yet been renewed. Just my 2 cents.

Gordon, I have to agree. I know kitkat has a waiver but I don't think GaryC or hockeygal does.

We were approved in 84 days. I lived in England for 2 years while in college, met him there. We dated for almost 2 years before filing - IN PERSON, not online. We both have never married. We are in our mid 30s. But England is not a high fraud country. But neither is Canada, is it? (Some Canadians are having delays)

Ah, who knows, but I know my case was very straightforward & labelled correctly.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

We lived in the same town together in Canada (how we met) and have been dating for more than 2 years too - both never married before. Very straightforward case like yours, and yet we are still waiting. Clearly that isn't the reason some people get approved sooner.

Ah, who knows, but I know my case was very straightforward & labelled correctly.

Even with a waiver, it *should not* affect processing time - or at least it didn't in the past. I researched for months regarding an overstay situation and consulated a very well-regarded attorney who specializes in waivers for overstays. Nothing indicates that the need for a waiver would affect the I-129F processing since the waiver comes into the picture at the consulate abroad. In fact, I know someone in the exact situation - previous visa overstay for a Mexican fiance - who applied exactly 3 weeks before we did (pre-IMBRA obviously) on Feb. 28 with approval on May 16, just like normal.

I don't have any answers, I just find it impossible to believe that they process petitions in order of something like gender, occupation, age, etc.
