I'm still here.

But I am still hoping it will all resolve itself soon enough and I can be there by Christmas. That is reasonable, right?

(a couple of weeks ago, my timeline said I'd be approved by Aug. 27, now it says Sept. 9. Wonder what it will say next week...)

I am approuching 180 days soon :( . And I am from Vermont.

That is outrageous.

I can understand why I am in this boat, not having been in the first round of RFE's and then getting caught up in the processing pile... but some of you guys got your RFEs early on... combined with an early NOA1 date... it boggles. And it sucks.

I've stopped checking the USCIS site. It pains me to see it stuck on the RFE received date! But I set my inbox to notify me with a special sound if I get any email from USCIS. It will go "ta-daaa!" and I will fall out of my chair.

Well I hate to say that I have given up hope - it's more that I've finally come around to the fact that this is completely out of our hands. I have contacted everyone I could possibly contact - senators and congressmen. I surely hope that the one senator's office contact who is nice and interested in helping can actually do something, but I feel pretty doubtful.

Within the next few days I hope to finalize my mid-September trip to Mexico and beyond that I'll start making plans to relocate there temporarily. I'm not overreacting - it's just that once we have get an approval and an interview date, we still have to wait another 6-9 months for waiver approval for a previous overstay. (That's why this waiting has killed me so much - if pre-IMBRA processing dates had remained in place, we would have been finished with the US portion and probably even the interview in June, meaning he would be home early next year. At this point, being home next year is looking questionable. So I have to make other plans).

I just don't have any fight left - this has taken everything out me.

Kit,

If you can relocate there temporarily, then go for it.

To sit here and wait, knowing that you have a waiver coming up next, is enough to drive anyone nuts. For your own sanity, I would relocate. Everything is easier when you are together, waiting included.

Well... when we called CSC the last time they were totally useless and told us we had to wait until 180 days after our NOA1 for them to give us any information on our case, and the first congressman we contacted told us the same thing.

So now they'll have to listen or come up with a new excuse to continue with their lack of action in our file, and unfortunately I think they'll do the later

I had to actually request a waiver in writing when I sent back the second RFE. I equate it to asking what side of your head you want your hair parted on before they chop off your head. Kinda like them forcing you to dig your own grave. I don't understand this messed up process whatsoever. BLAH.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Did you ever contact your senator about the IMBRA RFE? I remember my senator's office telling me in early July that it I had not received it by the end of the month, she was going to have it faxed to me. She also helped someone else on VJ to get his IMBRA RFE sent. Seems like you should try it since almost everyone else has already received the IMBRA RFE - I just wouldn't wait for the 180 days . . .
