Janice, just be prepared for the possibility that your children may not be placed back into your custody just because you return back to the UK. I speak as a person who left a marital home many years ago with 2 small children in the care of their father until I found suitable accomodation, when the time came he would not hand them over....I did not get them back untill they were old enough to tell a judge who they wanted to be with...many many years went by until then. Yes you will be closer to them but it will still be a lonely time for you. Think hard and long....good luck with whatever you decide to do, I am sorry you are going thro this ...

Thanks everyone for your kind words...Sorry but I need to ask another question, I am going to see a lawyer as soon as I return to England, I know a good one in my home town, now the complicated bit, the children are in my name, even on the birth certificate their father is not mentioned, *note to add that when the registar came to the hospital to registar my children their father sat there and said sorry I am not signing that and went to football instead* another *note to add...and he wonders why I was angry with him* oh duh. Anyway I am getting of subject.....do you think this would be an advantage to me or not???

i agree with jaylen - hands jaylen the 16 pound sledgehammer - you go girl

janice, it's sad when an ex denies your rights to have a normal relationship with your children and uses them as pawns in whatever game the ex has in mind. i do hope that you are able to resolve this quickly and to your satisfaction (F)

exactly!

Good luck, Janice. I'll be thinking of you and hoping for the best for you.

Wooooo!

Ric Flair has a son named David. David wrestled as an amateur and I went to go see him one night for his state championship match. I did this despite knowing that the result was that I was fired by WCW and sued for disrupting story lines and not fufilling my contract.

Well, I returned to the ring some months later and told WCW president Eric Bischoff what I thought about him and the company. I apologized to the fans but never to my son. Family comes first. And even though I spent 30 years on the road to make the fans happy every night of their life - after seeing my son compete I don't regret one minute of it. It was all worth it.

And that's from Ric Flair, 22 time champion of the what? world. I walked away from my life to get a part of it back. When I came back I was stronger than ever and everyone applauded what I did.

You should do what thousands already do. Look at Ric Flair and follow his example.

then my thought is that your fight (if it comes to that) will be with the person who has PR and who presently has 'custody'....your MIL. It will be down to you to convince a judge that they should be with you. Will she hand them over to you voluntarily do you think?

A big NOoooo to that question, ever since the children were little she has wanted them, I wanted the children back when her husband died but she gave me a big sob story that she would die without them so I relented and gave her what she wanted. Now after what they did I regret my action, I should of had the courage to say NO and took my children back then, but as I said previously I can not undo the past I am just looking forward to the future.

Ric Flair just shared an intimate, relevant and defining moment in his life. My whole world got destroyed and rebuilt. I'm an example of what happens on the other side of that choice to walk away from one thing to gain another. I didn't have to do that but I can relate to the decision.

And you disrespect me like that? Did you even read what I wrote?

Be fair to Flair.

Janice....I am not going to say the situation is impossible but I do think you will have a difficult fight on your hands, but if you just want/need to be nearer to your kids anyway then thats what you should do. (F)

Janice is there anyway you can confer with this attorney via telephone before you travel home? I see your interview is soooooooo soon. Perhaps there is something he could do in your stead at least until after you have the greencard?

I'm also sorry to say I agree with Tracy about not understanding why Jon can't move to the UK with you. There are children involved here and to this point I don't understand what could be so personal for him that your children aren't more ....well i hate to say it....important.

You aren't being too nice again are you? *hugs*
