Guys, I am asking an advise about this CFO thing. I didn't realize I have to do this. My interview will be on February 1st and hubby booked my flight on the 10th. Manila embassy delivered IR-1 visa within 3-5 working days. So by the 7th or 8th I can get my visa in hand. What I am worrying about I might not I have enough time for this CFO thing. What do you think? Please please I need some info... Thanks!

September 2007 - We started chatting

January 11, 2008 - He visited me here in Philippines

January 18,2008 - Our engagement ceremony

July 14,2008 - his 2nd time here in Philippines

August 08,2008 - Our WEDDING

August 2008- December 15 2009 - We lived together here in Philippines.

December 15, 2009 - He went back in Colorado ( my saddest moment)

March 27, 2010 - I-130 sent

April 09, 2010 - NOA1 received

September 18, 2010 - NOA2 received ( major major happiness )

October 04, 2010 - NVC received / case number assigned

October 08, 2010 - Received AOS bill

October 11, 2010 - AOS bill paid

October 15, 2010 - AOS status "paid"

October 22, 2010 - IV- bill received

October 23, 2010 - IV bill paid

October 27, 2010 - IV bill status "paid" DS-230 packet sent

December 01 - 02, 2010 - Medical exam ( passed)

December 17, 2010 - NVC case complete! -)

February 01, 2010 - Interview ( 8:30 AM)

you have to do that the next day after your interview.. that's one of requirement before you fly to US.. You can get CFO sticker in 1 day... That's what I did before I flew here... Goodluck

U can have it finished within a day.

Commission on Filipinos Overseas. They require immigrants to take a pre-departure class and get a sticker placed on their passport before they are allowed to leave.

i am not sure if my question is related in any way, but i will be renewing my Philippine passport using my married name, the Dept of Foreign Affairs is requiring me for a pre departure seminar too before i can get a certificate for my passport processing. is this the same sticker that we are talking about? please advise asap since i will be working on these documents next week.

GC received = April 5, 2012 (incorrect data entry :((, sent back April 9, 2012)

CORRECT GC RECEIVED = August 22, 2012, granted IR1 (10 year gc)

that's where our USCIS process ends for now.. will wait for the next 3-4 years what we'll do next...

PRISM and PDOS are two different things. If you are married to a foreigner, and you apply for a Philippine Passport, you need to attend PRISM. After you get your visa you will attend PDOS and get your sticker.

NATURALIZATION

02/25/2014 - Eligibility date.

03/03/2014 - N-400 package mailed.

03/11/2014 - Check cashed.

03/14/2014 - NOA received.

04/09/2014 - Biometrics.

04/28/2014 - In-Line for Interview - 6 hours later Interview Scheduled!!

05/02/2014 - Interview Letter received. (Mailed on 29 April)

05/26/2014 - 3 year anniversary.

06/02/2014 - Interview. PASSED!

09/11/2014 - Oath Ceremony.

09/16/2014 - Updated driver licence and registered to vote.

10/08/2014 - Updated Social Security

10/14/2014 - Applied for U.S. Passport

10/27/2014 - U.S. Passport arrived in mail (13 days - DID NOT expedite)

10/30/2014 - Naturalization Certificate arrived in mail (was not folded)

MY IMMIGRATION JOURNEY IS OFFICIALLY FINISHED!!

After you get your visa, you don't have any choice but to get the CFO sticker. You have to have your visa first before they can give you the sticker. It can be done in one day. You NEED it because they won't let you leave without it. I know someone who was denied to board because she doesn't have the CFO sticker in her passport. She went to attend the CFO seminar with me. It is simply non-negotiable.

October 2008 - we first met each other at work (Makati, Philippines)

February 2010 - we finally admitted that we are in love (yay!)

Mar 18-Apr 5, 2010 - hubby went to the Philippines for vacation to celebrate his birthday

March 31, 2010 - engagement day!! yay!!

August 21-29, 2010 - hubby went back again to PH for the wedding prep

October 19-November 2, 2010 - hubby arrived in PH for our wedding :)

October 23, 2010 - WEDDING DAY!!

March 18-28, 2011 - hubby's visit to Philippines for his bday (2nd bday together)

USCIS Stage - 136 days for USCIS journey

December 2, 2010 - I-130 sent to Chicago Lockbox

December 6, 2010 - I-130 received!! yay!!

December 13, 2010 - NOA1 text message received!

December 16, 2010 - NOA1 hard copy received in the mail

April 28, 2011 - NOA2!!! Thank you LORD!

NVC Stage - 21 days for NVC journey

May 2, 2011 - NOA2 hard copy received in the mail; NVC received our case

May 6, 2011 - Case number and IIN ; DS3230 sent by beneficiary through email to NVC

May 10, 2011 - AOS bill invoiced and paid

thanks guys, i was able to secure 2 certificates from CFO already. was able to get the prism guidance counselling seminar and CFO green cert. i will just be going back there in case the visa is on hand already for the sticker. i just want to make sure that the passport that i will be filing is for my married name already. passport renewal is way too complicated if you are already married to a us citizen.. thank god i was able to work on all of my papers.. take care everyone!

PRISM and PDOS are two different things. If you are married to a foreigner, and you apply for a Philippine Passport, you need to attend PRISM. After you get your visa you will attend PDOS and get your sticker.

i have finally worked on the certificate.. funny you mentioned, but PRISM started the seminar first with PDOS before breaking us up for country specific group discussions.. I cannot complain as i was able to get my certificates needed to change my name on my passport, being married to a USC..just a heads up to those who will need to work on their PRISM ans CFO certs, try to make it on the 10 am schedule so you can get your papers in one day, if you opt to go at 1 or 3 pm schedule, you might need to go back the following day, it's just gonna be a waste of time if you have to get back to them another day... :D
