We had our interview on Friday 21st of January in Montreal. We are wondering when we will receive our passport. We live in Toronto. Please if anyone can shed some light on this, I will greatly appreciate it.

I cannot tell you exactly when you will receive it but 2-10 days is usually a good estimate. I picked mine up in Brampton two days after my interview.

You will be picking up your passport from DHL. They do not deliver you it, you will need to check online to see if its posted a waybill number and then call DHL to see if they have your passport. I would say longer than 2-3 days specially since it was a weekend right after you had your interview.

My husband and I had a similar interview as yours, on a Friday. Instead of trying to log in and get the waybill number, use the reference number instead. the DHL Canada website has a box for "reference" which is where we were able to track out visa. We never got the waybill from the visa website.

Our visa was available for pick-up the Tuesday after our interview and my husband did his POE the following weekend.

Good luck to you!

Desi78...we had my fiances interview on jan 12th and still nothing from montreal. Our DHL reference number still says "no information for this reference #" now almost 10 days later we have no new information. This is absolutly ridiculous. get ready to wait...its going to be awhile. we got approved and everything, we arent sure what is going on even after several calls to both DHL and the MTL consulate.

you guys calling DoS Hotline, getting some status ? (# in my profile - click the girls, read left panel)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Hey guys. Yes I checked, and no, no updates today either. I called the consulate yesterday, and after entering 15 prompts I finally got a lady. She very nicely declined to help. Asked how long the officer said it would be. I said I didn't get a waybill number after interview, and was calling to ask for one now. She told me there is no waybill number, and I just need to keep checking the U.S. visa site. She also said that once the passport is delivered to the location, the U.S. visa site will update it with a waybill number.

so no thought to call DoS Hotline? Really ?

OK - have a read - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/264972-shortcuts-when-checking-for-updates-from-the-nvc-and-dos/

Dodi's posted 'how to call' and further down, I've posted 'what you can get, and when'.

DoS Hotline knows all casefile status, after the casefile leaves NVC - you really, really should call DoS Hotline, get some status. DoS Hotline and the IV Unit where you interviewed share the same computer system, is same data (mostly) and you can ALWAYS get a Human at the DoS Hotline.

My interview was January 19 in Montreal. The csc system still isn't reporting a waybill number for me either. I will call DoS if I still have not update in a couple of days. They did tell me at the interview it would take about a week. It's been exactly a week today.

Now, ask me if I think it's reasonable to take A WEEK to stamp a flipping passport (I know it's not just a stamp, but still...). After all we've been through...I am just fed UP. Also, the csc online system was down almost all day yesterday. I wasn't too impressed with that either.

All my family and friends have been congratulating me that this process is over...but I don't feel it will be really over till I have that passport back. I haven't even booked my flight yet; I need to have this visa IN MY HANDS!!!!!!!

Sorry for the vent.

MTlgato we feel the same way. Only we have been waiting since the 12th for my fiance's passport. After all the money, patience, and stress the least they could do is get us back the passport in a timely manner. It will be 10 days tomorrow, we are hoping that something isnt wrong. however we did call about a week ago and a very nice man helped my fiance and told him that no red flags or anything had shown up in his file...so i guess its just a waiting game here on out...please keep me posted on your situation :) thank you :(
