"Some" mental illness makes people shoot others? Well, then how about criminals? What makes them shoot people? Are they ill as well?

Your "bomb in a crowd" scenario is not unlike someone carrying a concealed handgun in a crowd. Just because they have one doesn't mean they're going to use it. Say for instance everyone had a bomb on them all the time. Would people blow themselves up simply because they could? Right now there are many, many, MANY people who carry guns every single day - and shoot no one. Why is that? If they upgraded to bigger hardware would their trigger finger's itch just be too much for them to resist? "Oh boy! Now I have a bomb! I just have to explode it and kill myself, along with everyone else in this place." Just because people have the capability doesn't mean they have the incentive. And that's exactly why terrorists blow themselves up. They have incentive.

I think I missed your last point. Passing a law against Muslims that affects the rest of us too is OK?
