EAD question

Hi everybody!

I have a question regarding EAD and SSN. I have a SSN because I was here on a working visa, and my EAD was approved over a week ago, and then a couple of days ago I got another update saying they had mailed a letter, so I can assume it's on its way?

I have a job interview tomorrow, so I was wondering: if I get hired, I should be fine to work, right? or I need to wait to have the actual physical EAD?

Thanks!

You can take a copy of the approval notice with you if your employer insists on seeing proof of elibility to work, but you should be fine to work if you already have a SS#and your EAD has been approved...Good Luck!

Physical card in hand is what you would need to complete the I-9

YMMV

You need the card and it would say card production if they were making it and you would have an approval notice online/text email. Not just a " letter "

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

They actually should not legally hire you without proof of eligibility to work in the US. Hopefully they will be understanding and wait for you to have the card.

Yeah, over a week ago I got the confirmation of approval and it said it was in production, but then a couple of days ago it changed to "we've sent you a letter". So I figured it's been produced and now sent? yes?

Also I got my AP today but online doesn't even have a touch since november...? weird, never got the approval email/txt... silly USCIS! :)

moved from AOS to Working and Travelling During US Immigration forum as a more appropriate location for this topic

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
