Can answer that by experience except stepdaughter barely turned 18 when her mom could apply for US citizenship. A big NO, her daughter will have to wait for the full five years apply separately, and study for the civics test.

No. Her daughter is an adult. The daughter can apply to take the citizenship test after being an LPR for 5 years.

Thank you very much for the info that you both provided.

Luckily, it has been 5 years since my sister and her daugher got their green cards so I guess they will both be be able to apply together..but separate applications!

Thanks again.

Cool, they can study the civics test together. Is English a problem for either? Incredible how my stepdaughter learned English, can't tell her from any other natural born US citizen. But still have a difficult time understanding her, speaks teenage slang. Wife still has her own original accent, hope she never loses that.

Nah, english is not a problem for either of them, we learnt and spoke english in our grammer schools back home and they have been here since 1999. Its just that my sister is a wimp when it comes to take any test that is why she has been putting it off since 2009 when she became eligible since she got the GC in 2006 and is still married to her husband the USC who filed the petition for both of them.

Yeah, my wife and stepdaughter were wimps too, both went completely brain dead at our AOS, and those guards with guns scared the ####### out of them. But with enough visits to the USCIS offices, they were cured of that.
