I-864: both income and asset backing?

Hi everyone,

My husband (intending immigrant) and I (petitioner) currently reside in Canada. We both currently have jobs that have agreed to transfer us down to the U.S. and I was wondering what you need as support to prove that your current employment will continue to the U.S. after you move. We were hoping to use our income together on the I-864 to meet the income requirements, however we weren't sure what to use as support. Secondly, if we also choose to use assets to meet the income requirements on the I-864, does it make sense to put both on the same I-864 form or fill out two. The reason behind this is my husband is worried that the proof we have that our employment will continue down in the U.S. may not be enough.

Thanks for your help,

- Sam

You should present on company letter head what would look like a job promise ( job offer) Stating your current income(s) and length of service and that you are promised jobs at such and such location with job titles and that the money would then be X in US dollars.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Bingo! Then, if the income alone is sufficient, simply leave all the asset questions blank, really.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
