I looked around VJ and there doesn't seem to be a set answer on this...so I'll just ask it again!

For the G-325a, my fiance's passport photos are "US style" but they are definitely smaller than US (not 2x2).

Does this really matter?

I just doubt there is a place in Mali that can do them bigger and I'm no longer there so it seems too late anyway. He can't send things by mail because they RARELY get here.

Am I stressing out over nothing?!

Yes it has to be 2x2. Are you sure they are smaller? 2x2 is fairly small.

You've gotten multiple incorrect answers. USCIS is not picky about the size at petition time but she'll need several in the correct size for the medical and interview. You can submit the petition with the ones you have and they'll be accepted. No worries.

Thanks! That's why I was confused because I have seen so many different answers.

The photos are probably 1 and 3/4 inch not 2. So I'll use them for USCIS and then try to get correct sized ones for the Embassy.

So does anyone have suggestions of how to find 2x2 ones in Mali?! Every photo place we've been to, they've been so much smaller!

You don't necessarily need to get them taken somewhere. If you can take the picture yourself and upload it to this website http://www.epassportphoto.com/, it will help crop the picture for you, so it's 2" x 2". Then you can print it out yourself if you have the special paper or bring it somewhere that can print photos. It's really easy to do, plus you don't have to pay crazy prices for just two pictures. If you need more than two, then just print more.

Someone else on VJ successfully used this website and recommended it in another thread about passport-style pictures. I'll be using this website myself once I need to submit more pictures.

For the Consulate, the size must be correct. 2" X 2" is equal to 5cm X 5cm. USCIS will accept the smaller or larger rectangular photos with the petition though. The correct size is needed for the medical and interview.

Glad to help :) I actually submitted the wrong size passport photos as well. I only found out after the fact. I didn't even think about asking for US size when I got them done. But next time I'll know since I'll be using the website.

Just as a point of clarity, the passport photos have zero to do with the G325a. They are required as a part of all petition packages. The Guides here simply mention putting them in the stack behind the G325a because that's the order they are listed in the requirements.
