If i try to get a statement executed by a US consular officer certifying that i'm a US Citizen, could that maybe help? Or maybe if i get a G845 filled out by a consular officer? Would that help the situation?

In my experience...

If you send the "proper document" but it is even a day late, you will be denied. If you send something which is not a "proper document" on time, you could still be denied. Down side? None. Make a copy of everything including the RFE return letter and note where the return envelope is addressed also.

I hope someone can chime in on whether an I-290, motion to re-open, can be used for a petition. That would be another good route for a "Plan B"

What do you have as proof that you are a USC, so how can any US consular vefiry this. You seems to be going in a circle.

I only know my certificate number. I'm sure they have all on file from when i was certified at the location where i was certified. I don't think they would have given me a receipt for the new Certificate if they came to the conclusion that the certificate number is fake or that I'm not a US Citizen.

Yes... you may need several other documents for this to be done. Maybe more than an ID because the ID will just show your identity. BUT if you can obtain one then it will work.

The receipt is only evidence that you have requested something, until they have actual verfied the information and submitted you a copy of the certification, they do not knows if the information is true or not.

I didn't send a copy of my naturalization because when i got naturalized i was told that making a copy of it was illegal and i thought that sending in my certificate isn't a good idea.

The same was going thru my mind when I filed for the petition for the K-1 for my fiancee. I did not listened to my inner voice and made a copy of my USC certificate. But I wrote on it "COPY to be used only by immigration dept". I have no idea if that was the right thing to do or not I just did it.

:ot: Could you please explain this issue of the "come platanos" or "banana eaters"? Spanish is my native language, but I am still learning the ways of the Dominican culture and I have seen this expression elsewhere, but I am not sure what it means.

:ot2: Let us know what you decide to do in regards to your RFE and whether it worked or not!
