Just a personal anecdote, but my employer announced plans to 'reorg' just over a week ago and ever since then I've mysteriously ended up on recruiter mailing lists. It's slightly annoying because I didn't ask for it but I suspect someone I know did it. The job listings themselves are interesting in that more than half the open positions I see are in California.

Do you even know what the root of the budget problems that California is in?

Californians ?

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Bow down to New Jersey, muthafuckas. Nobody does fiscal mismanagement like we do.

How bad is the Texas deficit? Comparing budget crises among states is tricky, for technical reasons. Still, data from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities suggest that the Texas budget gap is worse than New York’s, about as bad as California’s, but not quite up to New Jersey levels.

Now if those federal welfare leeches in Alaska could only get their act together and pull back from the federal teat. I wonder how many mobile meth labs the federal government has indirectly financed.

Agreed. Most all of that Federal money goes to Alaskan natives who btw have become used to living off the dole. The other pork barrel money goes to military project that Alaskan senators and congressman got (Ted Stevens, Murkowski, and Don Young). Don Young is the only one left out of those three. But yes the Alaskan natives (Eskimo's and Indian's) have it made with Federal tax payer dollars.

As far as meth goes... California has been and is #1 for meth production.

Yes, blame the Inuit for all that ails Alaska  A third of jobs in Alaska are subsidized by the federal government. But I suppose those are only Inuit jobs according ot you.

Alaska leads the country in all things meth per capita. How else are we supposed to compare a state that has a lower population than a large number of counties?

ALOT of those Federal jobs are BIA related...my wife being one of those BIA hand out employees. How do you think the natives here get medical and dental treatment ? The doctors go to them for most part. All of it is payed with Fed money.

Don't look/gloat now, 'cause the old adage goes, "As goes Calif., so goes the nation."

Not if we give it back to Mexico. Then it's Mexico's problem, and not ours.
