Why are there always people who will give something a one star rating, even when most everyone else is giving it a 4 or 5? And many times it will be over the most mundane reasons. Who are these schmucks?

i see that a lot on Amazon.. a lot of times people don't read the whole description of the product and then they give it a negative review when it didn't come with something...

I'm interested in reading others' experiences with the product or service. Some people are actually really good about giving substance to their critique, while the one star raters seem to look for any excuse to be pi$$y.

It's funny when others can write a response. Here's what I've been looking at - a smart phone:

Pros: Big, bright screen.

Cons: Due to the bad phone-answer UI, half the time when the phone would ring I would hang up on the caller or dismiss the alert while getting it out of my pocket. Also, it is missing some standard Android features such as Favorites in contacts.

Summary: I had to switch carriers to get a usable Android phone with a physical keyboard.

Wow! Did you actually own this phone? Maybe you should try a manual. Some people don't need smartphone....key word...SMART! One thing I hate is people who give low scores on reviews when they are simply not smart enough to use the phone. You should be rated! It would warrant the half star that gave the phone. Doesn't have favs in contacts? You keep the phone in your pocket? A touch screen phone, yet you cant understand when you take it out (with your hands touching the touch screen) why it hangs up?! Hahahahahahahaha.....You needed to switch carriers! GET THE PHONE WITH THE BIG BUTTONS! and wear a helmet while using! lmao!

Yeah, there's a lot of it out there. I just don't get it. Some places allow other users to rate the reviews, which helps, but it seems that no matter how good the product is, there's always a handful of people that will give it the lowest rating.

They reviewed the stroller/travel system I bought...they were brutal! Right down to the clicking the handle makes when you pop it back into place. And the last line was ....and that is why we didn't buy it.

some people are funny when they are reviewing a 50 to 60 dollar a night hotel room... you can't compare a 50 dollar a night room to a $200 night room... but that is what some people seem to do...
