My DS 230 is being sent out by the NVC, can I fill in online the one on the travel.state.gov website, print it out and send that one ?

Yes, as long as you have a barcode sheet generated to send with it.

Thanks...

I noticed that on the DS 230 there is a large blank rectangular box in the top left hand corner of the form. On the one that the NVC sends you does this have anything in it ?.. and does the form that the NVC send out have a barcode on it ?, or is it just a sheet the same as the I-864 ?

The boxes are the same. You will need a seperate barcode sheet just as for the I-864.

The blank rectangular box should be left blank. You don't write anything there. Make sure, you make a barcode coversheet for the DS 230. The NVC DS 230 is double sided, whereas the one you can download from the travel.state.gov will be one sided. Don't worry about two sided Vs one sided, as NVC accepts the one sided DS 230. Write down your case number on the top right hand corner on your DS 230 pages as well as photocopy of passport's biographical information pages.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Click on the appropriate link for what is required. If the top link does not apply to the country of the applicant/beneficiary, then you are only required to submit part I along with a photocopy of the biographics page of the passport

Instructions for Immigrant Visa Applicants (applying in Albania, Canada, Lebanon, Philippines, Turkey, United Arab Emirates or on the continent of Africa)

When one is required to submit both parts 1 & II and all documents listed in the above link, the NVC reviews all documents and schedules the interview. Part 1 should only be signed not part II as that has to be signed at the interview stage in front of the conof.

Instructions for Immigrant Visa Applicants (NOT applying in Albania, Canada, Lebanon, Philippines, Turkey, United Arab Emirates or on the continent of Africa)

When one is only required to submit DS-230 part 1 and a copy of the biographics page of the passport, the consulate will schedule the interview.
