I am getting married on Feb. 4th and was wondering about my current address while filling out the forms for AOS. Currently, I am going to give a 60 day notice at my current residence. We are moving April 1st but still do not know where as we are looking now for a new place. My question is, since I will not a current moving address, can I use a P.O. Box just so our paperwork does not get lost in the mail in the months to come. I have heard that others have used p.o. boxes the entire process and others say they got a RFE. Anyone had an issues with this while filing for the AOS.

Thank you in advance.

PO BOX IS FINE.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I started out using my street address when I applied for K-1 Visa, then switched over to a P.O. Box number, I sent in a letter with my new mailing address and then the old address because it showed my residence. When you move you can do a Change of Address online using the USCIS website. It is required each time the individual moves. Before I married my wife we had moved to another city, we did file the new address online (required with the fact she is under a non-immigrant, I believe the same for a immigrant visa too) then we used the new address for AOS. If you are staying in the same city and will continue using P.O. Box then you will be fine with getting all your mail there with no problem or at least I didn't there is always the problem that USCIS can mess up.

AOS:

Green Card APPROVAL for wife and stepson 02/10/2011

Revd'd Green Cards for wife and stepson today 02/19/2011

ya, see, AOS from a K-1 is different, and they are planning it 'correctly' -

ie - use a PO BOX for the duration of the lifecycle of the petition.

No Fuss, No Muss, no mucking about with undeliverable mail.

Okay guess I miss understood and went into to much detail but by there timeline they did file K-1, and I wasnt sure if they would move out of the area I would assume they would have to do a adress change right?

i'm a fan of 'no address changes' between filing and approval, regardless of 'what' is being filed.

The system that handles address changes is in Kentucky, the system that prints the green cards is somewhere else, rarely gets the updates, and the local USCIS offices NEVER get the updates.

PO BOXES ARE KEWL !

I am about to get a PO BOX today. So, if I move during the process within the same city of course, how does the notifying USCIS work ? What i mean is, will my mailing address be the same while I notify them that I have moved physically but PO BOX is the same ?

Also, Can the petitioner on I-130 (my USC wife) use the PO BOX address along w/ beneficiary myself ? Since, G-325 A asks you for your residential address anyways ?
