Hello everyone..I brought my wife here on a K1 visa and had her son in the petition for follow to join. But unfortunately we were not able to bring him to the U.S. within the year so it expired. She has got her permanent resident status in that year. I am aware that we have to put in a I130 application for her son, but I am not aware of the whole process. I was wondering if there were topics or links that show specifically what documents and forms i need for him to come to the U.S. I have not adopted him yet and I'm sure I am going to when he gets to the U.S. Does he need his bio father's consent. the father was not on the birth certificate and has no contact with them. Do I sponsor him or does my wife now that she is a permanent resident. As you can see I have many questions and any feedback would help. thanks in advance..

If you married before the child was 18 the fastest is you ( USC) to petition a step child. If the child is over 18 AND unmarried then your wife can petition unmarried child of LPR. Either route uses the I130 and the guides for it. The difference is an immediate visa number or waiting a bit for an available number.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
