(note to moderators -- I'm posting this in multiple forums in hopes to reach the many people that helped me in different forums over the course of my application. I'm hoping you'll let each post stay for this reason. There were too many folks to try msg individually).

I had my interview yesterday in Portland. We were told at the interview that we were approved!

I cannot express enough my gratitude to the visajourney community. Aside from saving me thousands of dollars in lawyer fees, it saved me a LOT of worry to be able to ask questions and get great answers, and it also saved me a lot of time (the entire process took just FOUR months!). The forums were great, and the guides were extremely helpful too. At the start of this, I had no idea whatsoever where to start -- whether to do a K1, K3, CR-1 or AOS (having already been in the U.S.). There were other issues too -- questions about my arrest, questions about my birth certificate, questions about financial stuff, and a very significant discussion we had about me being a laptop-based worker and the implications of that on my application. Basically I had ALL KINDS of questions, and I simply would not have made it here without the help of this community -- you guys were better than a lawyer, and, need I say, way better than the "misinformation line".

I wanted to say thanks some individuals in particular, but I'm hoping you all get to see this, and you know who you are.

In extreme gratitude,

Samuel

As noted, I posted in multiple places because I had people in multiple forums helping me. At one point, I WAS posting in the K1 forum because I thought that was the way I was going. I received signicant help in this forum alone. I'd love to reach those people that helped me out in this forum that might not ever see my posts in the other forums.

I have NOT posted in any forum where people in that forum did not help me out.

I'm having a hard time understanding what the big deal is -- I posted in the 5 forums that I actually received help in. I am patently NOT a spammer. I'm not selling anything or even begging for advice. I'm just trying to spread some gratitude. Anyhow, I'll leave it up to the moderators.

Considering how much complaining and moaning there is, it's a nice change. Anyhow Congratulations! :)

Thanks Yagisama and Coconuts.

Alas, 3 people have complained that it's spam, so I'm going to go ahead and delete them. It's kind of taken the wind out of my sails but hey... some people just don't like seeing something double-posted, even if it's happy, I guess.

Congratulations to you!!! And a big F you to the complainers, because you'll usually find the complainers posting useless advice in all kinds of forums for processes they have never gone through ... just to up their post count.

; IGNORE THE PEOPLE WHO ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT YOUR POSTS, APPEARENTLY THEY HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO THAN JUST COMPLAIN LIKE A LITTLE *ITCH (yes, it does itch.) THAN NOT BEING HAPPY FOR YOU (give me a break!!)..

SINCE MANY VJ MEMBERS HAVE HELPED YOU THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS, I CAN UNDERSTAND YOU POST YOUR THANK YOU'S ON DIFFERENT FORUMS SO THEN YOU KNOW THAT THE PEOPLE WHO HELPED YOU RECEIVE THEIR "Thank You's".

I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST IN LIFE WITH YOUR BELOVED ONE!!

Tthanks everyone for your congrats! I'm going to be in a state of pure bliss for a few weeks. Talk about getting over a hump! I offer my deep and sincere best wishes to everyone else still in process. It's not easy when so much of your life depends on a process that you don't have much control over. In fact it's downright unnerving. That's the beauty of the VJ community the way I see it -- we are here to not only help each other with answers to questions, but also to cheer each other on.

Indeed that's the other reason I felt it was okay to do the multi-forum post -- I realize that people are getting approved every day, but my case was filled with issues and technicalities which I consulted this community on -- All KINDS of details, in fact. So me acheiving the AOS approval just seems like an extra big achievement for the whole VJ community at large, and was thus worth spreading. Not trying to be egotistical or thinking that MY approval was any better than anyone else's, or anything.

That said, after the fourth complainer of my multi-posting, and upon a suggestion of how I can seek out former respondees to my questions and msg them each individually, I was willing to remove the duplicates, only to find out that you can't actually delete a post on VJ that you already made unless you're a moderator. LOL. So here we are. I'm not dissing the complainers. I have nothing but appreciation for everyone here at VJ. Gratitude is the attitude. Peace to everyone and good luck to those still in their immigration process, at whatever stage that may be.
