Income Tax Returns

Hey, everyone!

Now I'm sure that this has been discussed over and over again and maybe even I posted something before, but I couldn't get it straight and I can't even find my old topic.

I need you all to shed some light on this one: What are the exact Income tax return forms that you need? 1040 & W-2? Or 1040A and W-2? Or... I don't know. Sorry, guys.

There's also a second question. Where can we get those forms from? Are those from 2010 available for us to take to the interview? I'm so sorry if I'm being silly(which I know I am), I just need to get this to have some peace of mind.

it's better to get tax transcripts from the IRS you don't need the w2 call the irs 1-800-908-9946 or 1-800-829-1040, you need 2008- 2009 2010 you can't get now until after april 18,2011 they know that, if your sending your file after april 18 then you need the 2010 tax

You can as well visit your nearest IRS office and request your tax transcripts for the past 3 years. You can collect it on the spot.

You need the entire income tax submittals you sent .....or.... the free IRS tax transcripts which take the place of all that stuff.

Forget about "which forms". You take a copy of the complete tax return. Simple.

If you have not filed your taxes by March, you would not be penalized. You would be fine with 2009, 2008, 2007 transcripts. The tax deadline is in April, and if your interview comes before the tax deadline there is no penalty for you when you are still within the tax filing period. But, if you have already filed your taxes before March, you should take your 2010, 2009, 2008 tax transcripts. Getting your tax transcripts has no hassle. You can show up at your local IRS office and get them on the spot.

If the return isn't filed yet and there's a history of good income from the same job, that would probably do, particularly for London but it's best practice to file the return ASAP and provide a copy.
