Hello VJers,

Is it possible to extend the interview for 8-10months before scheduling after an NOA2 approval. We are waiting for our NOA2 which should come in february according to igors timeline but some other situation arose and I cannot relocate within 6months. So I am asking if there is a way to delay my going to the US till next year March. Please I will really appreciate your kind advices. Thanks in advance.

If you get your NOA2 you still have the interview which you can delay a little, and once you have your interview and pass you have 5 months pasts that date to enter the US.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Once you have your visa ,you have 6 months to get here or it is all over. So if you want to get here March 2012, your target is to delay issuance of the visa until at least September 2011.

Some embassies set the interview date for you automatically once the NOA2 is issued and others wait for you to file your papers with them. If you have the latter, you can delay filing the papers, but be aware that there are filing deadlines that you cannot go over, otherwise you are done.

If it is the former, or if you cannot delay your filing long enough, the next step is to ask them to postpone the interview date once it is set.

Hopefully you can chain these delays together long enough to get you to your goal of September 2011.
