My mailing address is a PO Box

So we recently sent out the K1 -Fiance visa but i realize i didn't put my mailing address, which is a PO Box #, and just put my physical address. Do they send the packets to a PO box or do they have to be a physically delivered to a street address? Do I try to add a mailing address by contacting USCIS? I contacted our local post office in town and the postmaster said anything without a PO box # will be sent back. Help!! What do i do?

They use physical address only, no P.O box I believe. Has been said in other posts that they do not use P.O boxes.

I used a PO Box for my mailing address as well as putting my physical address where required on the G-325A.

I received the NOA1 at the PO Box as expected.

Does anyone also know if we will have to fill out form AR-11? technically its not a change of address but adding my mailing address. Or do you think calling is good enough, to whatever office our application gets sent to that is?

NOA1 goes to the petitioner. I used my civic address and PO box and it came to my PO Box. Why not check with the mail delivery person on the route to see what they say. He or she just might deliver it to your house or redirect.

Oh good! I was hoping the petitioner would get it till we sort out this mail issue. Thanks!

We don't have a delivery route in our town. All mail is taken directly to the local post office. There they sort through the mail and deliver to our Box #'s, which is in the same building as the local post office. Its basically a one stop shop!

I talked to the Postmaster and he said that all mail that arrives with the street address gets returned to the sender, if there is no Box # listed on the package. So it looks like we will have to some how contact CSC and add my mailing address.

What a pain! :P

I put both my 911 address and my mailing address but it wasn't really a PO Box address, cause its was a RR# then box #, I had no problems getting any mail from them.

carl24 ....I don't see why they couldn't just watch for the mail for you and either hold it or put it in your box. You will have lots of time between the NOA1 and the NOA2 to get it all sorted out. My fiance, the petitioner also got the NOA2 and the letter from NVC and a copy of packet 3 from Montreal. So don't panic.

  • 1 month later...

hi everyone. I'm just wondering if it's ok to have the mailing address changed to a PO box still? Im concerned about some mails being lost in our residence address and it's kinda hard to keep checking on the mail everyday. just want everything to be sure that's why I'm thinking of just getting a PO box and have everything sent there from USCIS.

how do I go about it? any suggestions? thanks!
