hi guys

my hubby just received the AOS bill. And he wants to buy a money order from USPS.

however, he found the AOS Bill stated that "please return this portion with a casher's check or money order in U.S. dollars drawn on a U.S. Bank made payable to: the Department of State".

he just wonders, can he buy the money from USPS then????

thanks for your help

A USPS money order is perfectly acceptable and they will accept it.

USPS and USCIS are both parts of the US Government.

I would get a money order/cashier check drawn on a US bank. It does not say anything about USPS money order, so I would avoid it.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

USPS Money Orders are actually issued and guaranteed by the Federal Reserve Bank, a US Bank, actually, THE US Bank. So, yes, a USPS Money Order is totally acceptable.

Correct, USPS money orders are as good as cash due to the fact that like good old green backs they are also issued by the US government. They are less expensive than a certified bank draft.
