Hi VJers!

I am close to send the papers for an AOS.

I just got married and had my medical vaccination exam.

I am now signing the forms and making sure that I have all the documents required!

I made a list, please let me know if I missed something :

- G1145, E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance

- Payment in the amount of $ 1010.

- I-485, Application for Ajustment of Status

- I-765, Application for Employment Authorization

- G-325A, Biographic information

- I-131, Application for Travel Document

- I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record

- I-864, Affidavit of Support

- Certified copy of marriage certificate

- Birth Certificate

- one Copy of the I-94

- one Copy of the Passport (biographical page)

- 6 photos for I-485, I-131 and I-765 applications

- one Copy of the K-1 visa from Passport and entry stamp

- one Copy of Copy of Notice Of Action for I-129F approval

- last year tax return for the I-864

- one copy of pay statement for the I-864

Is this list exhaustive of did i forget something ?

do we need to provide the 1099 form with the I-864 ?

I also have questions:

1/my wife (she is the US citizen) is a contractor fur a non governemental organization. she works 4 days a week.

in the I-864, Part 6. Sponsor's income and employment, does she have to tick the box:

- a. employed as a _______

or

- b. self employed________

she ticked self-employed but she hesitated, I wanted to have your opinion to make sure that I will not have a RFE for this.

2/ My wife will have a new job on january 31th. it is a better job and she wanted to add with the application a copy of her future contract. Is it necessary ? the last year tax income shows that we are above 125% of the poverty line (a couple of dollars above). I dont want to complicate the application. And as long as we are above, it's ok no ? what is your opinion ?

thank you and best regards,

Benjamin

Your payment is wrong, your whole package will be rejected. It is NOT 1010$. It is 1070$.

I agree it is indeed $1070 and NOT $1010.

Also it says on the I-864 checklist (last page of the instructions) that you need the W-2 and 1099 form in addition of the tax return forms.

I don't know anything about the non governmental jobs

Good luck on your journey

The fee is $1070 not $1010 anymore

1099 and w2 need to be added and I would recommend 1040 as well as we were RFE'd on that.

She is a contractor for a company then she is self employed, unless she gets a base pay from them.

If she is starting new job then yes add some information about that as it wont hurt at all.

>>> Yes, you only need to send in the photocopy of the I-94 (whatever you do, do NOT lose your I-94...they're a pain the bum to replace); only send original documents when requested

I sent 6 but during the interview, I was told they would only use the pictures they took during biometrics for our EAD card and green card.

I sent 6 regardless. I know they take your pic at biometrics and that is used for EAD card, but we wanted to be on the safe side and no RFE's/ it wont hurt if you have done that already and I just attached my 2 each to each form as in --485x2 131 x2 and 765 x 2 lol

alright, so 2 photos are ok then.

I suppose it is the same for the copy of I-94 and passport, one for the # forms is ok, right ?

You need to send 6 photos as each form has a requirement of 2 photos. You also need to include the supporting documentation for EACH form even if you make duplicates because the EAD and AP and AOS are separated and sent off to different places for processing.

There is an AOS thread in my signature that has the required document list in it's entirety.

**Edit - some people have been okay sending just 2 photos, some haven't. Some have been okay supplying only one copy of documents, others haven't. It's up to you if you want to risk an RFE. I personally prefer to send in extra photocopies. Spending a little extra money (unless you have your own printer/scanner) to avoid the RFE and the wait time associated with that is worth it in my opinion.
