What would be your criteria for measuring tolerance?

seems to me taking aim at religion isn't the way to do it.

I'm not sure how Pennsyltucky made it to the tolerant list.
The Hindu and Sai-Baba temples in the Pits (description of Pittsburgh since long prior to construction of the Hindu temple) ring bells?

Apter question is why Ohio is on the low-tolerance list, in worse position than Utah.

I lived in southern Ohio for 3 years. I am not at all surprised to see it on this list!

 a few mandirs? that's it? next time you think Penn is tolerant, spend some time in just about any small town in the middle.
Does stopping in some (such as Donegal/Somerset/Bedford) for meals/fuel not count? Based on those (I have had experience at halting in all three), I still say PA is tolerant.

Been through southern OH at least six times, and I disagree with you.

Wow, through OH SIX times! Certainly makes my 3 years living there insignificant in comparison! I bow to your obvious expertise!

Seriously, as with all generalities, this analysis totally fails when you try to apply it to individuals and isolated incidents. I certainly met many wonderful people in Ohio, as well as North Dakota, Utah, and other places on the list!

Care to elaborate, or for once actually delineate your point of view on this? Platitudes are so boring Charles.

it should be obvious what i'm referring to.

Actually, no. I just always figured you were afraid to actually declare yourself on things, just wanted to dangle your toes off the dock rather than dive in, so to speak. Maybe you would like to elaborate for those of us that struggle with mind-reading.
