Hello everyone .... I went today on an infopass appointment to check the status of my AP as I need to travel ASAP .... When I went there the guy told me that I would not be getting AP (I was extremely disappointed) and then after a pause he said, BECAUSE YOUR I-485 APPLICATION HAS BEEN APPROVED, Didn't you get the welcome notice??

OMG ..... I could hardly believe it ..... The guy wanted to make sure if it's not a mistake and asked me to wait, and he'll RE CONFIRM it ..... He called and confirmed with them .... and they said YES THE I-485 HAS BEEN APPROVED ON THE 14TH JANUARY AND THE CARD WAS SENT FOR PRODUCTION ON THE 17TH JAN 2011 ....

I'm sooo sooo sooo happy ..... I want to thank you all for listening to me, for giving me the best advice and for keeping me on the track to wait which wasn't as easy ....

Now, one more question ..... As I need to travel URGENTLY (most probably tomorrow or day after tomorrow), and if I do not receive my card by then, is there any other way out? Can I get a GREEN CARD STAMP on my Passport ?? I just checked my mail and I've received the welcome notice :) .... YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Oh dear. What you should have was ask for the temporary I-551 stamp in your passport while you were at your InfoPass appointment. I don't suppose it's a quick run back for you? The only other thing I can think of is to have someone send your GC to you at your destination and before you re-enter.

I didn't have my passport at that time unfortunately with me .... Plus, the guy said that as I'm a MARYLAND resident, I should go to the Maryland office for stamp .... I'm thinking to go today ....

01/03/2009: began romance with roommate. Things are awkward for a bit.

05/15/2009: OPT expires.

06/11/2010: married! In Vegas!

10/13/2010: package sent to Chicago lockbox

10/22/2010: package received.

11/19/2010: Biometrics app. Done. Extremely friendly staff.

01/06/2011: I-485, I-130 initial review. I-765 in production.

01/15/2011: EAD received

02/05/2011: Interview notice received

Not everyone has an interview.

You're right strictly speaking, but to be fair, most people in this forum are required to have an interview (concurrent filers).

To answer Mac's question, OP is "Original Poster."

And, you can travel on your stamped passport just like a GC! That's the point! :) Have a good trip.
