what now VSC? :( why taking this long? :clock:

You can call USCIS and inquire about your case. Unfortunately, it is taking a long time to get petitions adjudicated at both VSC and CSC...

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

March 9, 2011 at 6 AM - Interview, approved!

March 18, 2011 - POE together. JFK and O'Hare airports. Legal wedding: May 16, 2011.

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.

Start making your phone calls and e-mails and writing to your Congress Member. We know they are going way over 5 months, but you waited patiently and played by their rules, and now it is time to make them play by their own rules too.

Good luck with that.... You WILL play by their rules because that are the only game in town.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

Yes, that is true. Sad, but true.

I never suggested that any of us have the power to impose better rules on them. Clearly, we do not, another sad but true fact.

However, none of this means that they can skirt their own rules. Heck, they wrote them, so now let's all play by them, including them.

Well good for him (or her).

Despite the massive power of USCIS, they wrote the rule which says "After 5 months, come bug us. Here is the phone number".

So let the bugging begin!

I'm also at 5 months and 2 weeks... Application was sent in July 27th. I don't understand why they have a timeline if they won't stick to it. I've contacted my congressman and they told her it would be assigned to an officer the first week of January. Yet still nothing. I'm growing more and more frustrated by the day... and it seems CSC is moving ALOT faster than VSC. Like you, I just want an explanation of some sort... some kind of communication would be really customer friendly.

From Igor's list, almost all of the last 15 August approvals were all NOA's that were sent after ours - August 9th.

It is so frustrating that they are looking at files that came in after our file did. I know life isn't fair, somehow knowing that doesn't make this easier.

Also frustrating to know that when we do get our NOA2, the interview date in Cuba will probably be 7 months or so away.

Thanks for letting me vent.
