I know senator Leahy personally. Alla's photos hang in his office. He is also an ametuer photographer and he knows well that I disagree with him on this issue. He never made any attempt to change Vermont laws when he was the Attorney General or urged any changes. Perhaps he knows it would never be accepted. He has never been able to answer to me why he thinks urban people can't handle the freedom that we can in Vermont. He also knows that Ver,ont has the LOWEST crime rate, not "one of the lowest" There is no contest.

He is correct to know there will be no change.

At any rate, he gets my vote. I know what he does and is willing to do for the people of this state. He is a very influencial Senator and that is important to a small state. The people who work in his office here are very competent and one of the best things is that he is just "available". You need something, just walk in his office, they will take care of you. He is incrediblt knowledgeable of immigration policies and his case worker who handles immigration issues also is.

Single payer WILL work in Vermont and save everyone money. But we absolutely must allow for other forms of payment for non residents.

The so-called 'urban areas' in Vermont are sad, pathetic jokes.

You seem to relish insulting other places. Vermont really has no "urban areas" per se. Not by Boston, NYC or even Louisville standards.

What we have is an incredibly clean and safe city with great parks, waterfront, outdoor activities, downtown shopping, an arts community that rivals cities 10 times the size. It is hardly sad or pathetic. No traffic to speak of, incredibly short commutes to work, excellent education, higher than average (US) income, lower than average (US) poverty, healthcare for all (soon to be single payer)

And the incredible natural beauty that we see every day, everywhere we go. Seemingly endless crystal clear streams for trout fishing, hundreds of miles of clean trails for walking and bike riding. It is downright awesome.

I use the FBI crime statistics for crime rates. The crime rate of Vermont, per 100,000 people is lower than any other place in the western hemisphere. Canada has a murder rate 3 times higher.
