About "groomzilla": i had to look up that word on google, its quite funny how the new york time describes it :P

But is it bad if you come from a fashion/styling background that you contribute your knowledge to make our wedding day as nice as it can be? If you are living in Belgium you heard from the designer niki van kets, many woman wish they could afford him. My dad uses his designs all the time in his shows, so has helped making him more famous.

She can still pick the dress of her choice but where is that rule that I cant see the dress before we marry? That's stereotype. If thats a rule then I could expect her to do all the cooking and household? No because we already agreed we both will do our part. Besides I like cooking. ;)

Theres only a few things that matter to me apart from clara who is the only one who matters in fact: a beautiful ring, a beautiful dress and good photography. I want her to feel like a real princess, and have real beautiful pictures that we can look at for the rest of our lives. Thats the only thing that justifies wasting over $10000 on one day on all the other, less important things like transportation, location rent, food, all who have a non-lasting nature and nobody remembers after a few weeks. (They are important too for the day itself, but only for that day. The ring and pictures and dress you keep the rest of your life)

My mom wore her wedding dress once a year for many years after she married.

i'm with alex on this one ... i think it's great that you're using whatever resources you have available to you whether they are through your own merits or your father's. there is not one person here that would do it differently either.

as far as bragging ... he's been questioned enough in this thread and merely provided answers to why he thinks a certain way ... just because someone may seem more well off in your eyes does not necessarily mean they are a braggart! ;)

 Wait let me back up and give the appropriate response desired. WOW I am impressed. What a lucky gal to have all of this at her disposal for her wedding day, it would be wonderful to have such a talented family to pick and choose what you should wear and do with your hair. Maybe there is a makeup artist, a jeweler and a shoe designer in the mix too.

Now back to the happy oooh's and ohhh's of this thread.

Well lucky him for having all those resources availble to him! I wish I'd had the same - are we sure we aren't just a little jealous here, girls?!

I still maintain it seems creepy - but like one said it's like ransom note letters to me...

But hey - lucky girl I guess :)

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

Bingo! :hehe:

And as far as hair and photography, that's two things I wish I hadn't cut corners on. :( I had to do my hair myself and of course it wasn't fabulous...just there...and as for photography, I had a hideous photographer who charged outrageous prices for very little product. I only have about 25 professional pictures and none of them are that great. The quality just wasn't there because the photographer was poopy. A great photographer can do amazing things. I think if you've got the money to do it....why not? This is the time to splurge if that's what you want to do. Good luck to the two of you Alex!

i fail to see what all the racket was about - if you want to use your photoshop talents to visualize how she looks in a particular dress then do so. just don't try to use such as evidence of anything other than your ability to use photoshop. she's a lucky gal and you're a lucky guy - best wishes to both of you

With Gimy on this one. He is using the resources he has available to try and make the most important day of their lives as beautiful and memorable as possible. I would utilize those resources too, if they were at my disposal.

I think your enthusiasm is great!

IK HOU VAN JOU, MARK

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!
