TWO days till my departure for Egypt!

Still Waiting though . . . . .

Are you going to try going to the embassy and banging on some doors to find out what on earth is going on with your application? You've been waiting a LONG time :(

Woohoo girl I know you are excited. Have a great time with your honey.

I'm counting down the days! Inshaallah, 9 days and I'm outa here. I have 2 big bags. One is packed with gifts for Hachemi and his family. Then I will have a big empty bag to bring lots of goodies home.

Welcome back to all that just returned. It is so hard to leave our men behind. I pray all are reunited soon. (F)

I think I will avoid the Embassy if I can, LOL!!! Although I seriously thought about going to ask for a certified copy of Ahmed's passport for my taxes.

Problem is that it is still at the Department of State waiting on the security clearance to be finished. Until that happens, the Embassy can't complete processing of the application for the visa. Last time I called (not so long ago), the visa specialist that I spoke with suggested I NOT call again for TWO MONTHS. She said I am welcome to call every week if I want to . . . but it will still take a long time . . . someone told me before like 3-6 months. FOUR months have now passed . . . interesting how time just seems to pass. I think both of us have reached a stage of . . . ok, let's be patient, blah, blah, blah. Maybe I will call DOS one more time before I leave . . . . maybe something will have happened . . . maybe he will get the visa while I am in Cairo. . . . maybe, maybe, maybe, lol, insha'allah!!!

Amy, Same thing happened to me before . . . this is the 3rd time I have been to Cairo in Feb-March timeframe. First time I was there was the hottest day they had ever had in the winter . . . and I went to the Pyramids that day. Last year I actually got to experience RAIN in Cairo . . . I mean the place is a desert most of the year, LOL! Ahmed just wants to stay in the flat the whole time . . . he doesn't understand that I want to go out to shop and sightsee (still a tourist after all). I mean . . . he has to get some rest some time!! right??? LOL, we are celebrating a belated First Anniversary.

Thanks, Meriem. I know you will have a great trip too.

Off to bed now!!

Catherine,

Honesty I would think that would be an awesome excuse to go have a peak at his passport. It is a legitimate excuse because everyone has to do taxes, and it's not your or your husband's fault they kept it so he can't make a copy.

Good luck in whatever you decide and enjoy your trip. I hope you're able to come home with your man by your side.

Well, first things first, LOL . . . less than 24 hours till departure and much packing still to do! Finally finished the shopping and decided what I had is enough . . . maybe scrounge something stored away to take for gifts not bought!
