im in somewhat of a frustrating siuation, my bf lives in the US and is a US citizen and im a canadian living in canada. Im young, and im currently living with my parents still, saving up to move to the US on a K1 visa to marry my bf. Im in a sticky situation, due to personal reasons i dont want my parents finding out i am going to the US to get married, ill be telling them im getting sponsored by my bf/parents. my question is, when me and my bf file for the k-1 visa, is ANYTHING at all going to be mailed to my house in any way? just to be sure. i dont want my parents getting any kind of mail of mine like that when im not home. if i do end up getting something in the mail (which im sure i will, like the papers i need to fill out and forward) will anythng suspicious be written on the cover of the mail in case my parents pick it up to give me my mail? or would i get a phone call or anything from the places we are dealing with, with the k1 visa? basically what im asking will i the places that are dealing with my k1 visa have any contact with me by phone or by mail alot? just so i can keep it low from my parents, and there are reasons why im not telling them so please dont make it part of the subject! thank you!

Yes later after petition approval, the consulate in Canada will mail you packet 3 and 4, unless on I-129F mailing address is indicated to be your fiancee's

You will recieve mails not phone calls from the USCIS, informing you of the status of your case.

Yes, just second-ing what jncarter said..The forms your bf fills out ask for your address where you live..They will send things to your permanent residence probably once the packet gets forwarded to Canada.

You can have a residential address that is different from your mailing address. Maybe you can have your mail sent to a friend's house?

Yes, you will be receiving important information in your packets with steps that will need to be completed (medical exam, police backgrounds checks, etc.) before your interview. As the other VJ member suggested, is there a reliable and trustworthy friend who is planning to stay at the same address for the next year whose address you can use for K1 related business?

Once you have filled out have the G-325A Biographic Information, if there is any unique details regarding your address history, and/or current circumstance, you can then attach a G-325A supplemental resident change (Separate form that can be typed out on any word processor explaining details about “Supplemental Attachment about Applicants Residence”). An example would be in our case were as my wife worked contract work in another country, but used her home country as her primary address for communication purposes with the USCIS. However, I would recommend not only use caution in electing to use another address, but also be prepared to explain the optional address, and reason used, noted within the G-325A supplemental form.
