Thanks again peeps.. while Im buzzing I may as well put my slant on things.. I honestly believe if we hadn't kept on at USCIS we'd just have been left indefinately.. we called every week and emailed a few times.. I might be wrong but I think it works eventually, if nothing else it gave us hope.. Ive copied below the last mail we sent similar to Luny NY's (thanks Lucy) and contrary to what some have said you can get a reply from a real person, as you can see..

Subject: N0A2?

Receipt no - EAC1090173046

I have again contacted the national service centre and all they can offer is an answer which a) Doesn't make sense b) advises that I contact you directly, which again I am trying to do. The channels of communication I have tried throughout this process have given me very little in way of consistency or information I require. The National centre does not know any relevant information on our petition and the operator simply reads from a script regardless of my query. Its very disappointing as we paid the money in good faith, were given a deadline and are still waiting after the deadline has passed without so much as an update. Even more frustrating is that many people who received NOA1 after us are already approved.

I have been in touch with the local congressman who is now taking up the enquiry on my behalf. This petition needs to be dealt with immediately. It is only fair and right. I will continue to be courteous with your operators but hope you understand I will not stop calling or e-mailing until someone gives us a definitive answer as to what is going on with our case. We have been told 60 days, 30 days, "we'll be in touch in a week" even though we will be at 6 months this saturday. I fully understand the workload your office is under but would appreciate if you would consider our case on a personal basis. We are two people who have done all you asked, are thousands of miles apart and simply need to be together.

I hope you can help deal with our overdue petition and eagerly await your response.

Rachel Graham

I am so glad you finally got what you deserve. 6 months and 10 days is beyond ridiculous.

I am glad that your long nightmare is now over.

May the rest of your journey go as smoothly as this part should have gone.

Congrats! I agree with you regarding emails to the service center. Others here have dismissed their responses as automatic, etc. but I had a response from a person named Jen, I quickly wrote back to her and among congressional inquiries and multiple emails my approval came within a few days. Maybe it was just coincidental and it doesn't make me any difference now but if I was one of the people still waiting I wouldn't sit by passively with the assumption that such efforts do no good.

CONGRATULATIONS on your NOA2.

things should move very fast now :)

and it gives us all hope.

I spoke to USCIS this morning, and for the first time, insisted on speaking to an actual immigration officer.

I had some questions - all of which he answered except no promise of any dates or timelines.

Immigration officers are far more courteous and helpful than the phone bank people.

my hat off to them, they are getting the brunt end both from us

and from government for even more petitions.

We can only pray that our case get processed very soon

and that NVC and Moscow are hungry to clear the backlog.

a request to all you 'anonymous' VJ users.

please join VJ, fill out your timelines,

and notes - it is helpful to all especially

to those nearing milestones like NOA2s or lifting of restrictions.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL

с Новым годом
