Hi! I am quite aware that there are some people who are on the same boat as me but I wonder if I should worry at this point or is there anything I can do on my end to get feedback from USCIS. I filed a petition (I-130 form) for my dad on July 17, 2010 and after receiving a notice of receipt from then, I haven't heard anything back. I tried calling their number but there's nobody I could speak to and its just an automated message where I hear update from my case. I also signed for email notification and so far, they have notified me twice that it was transfered and now being in processed. I just wonder if I should worry at this point. I am getting a little anxious each day that passes and don't seem to know what's going on. Will they update the status online if it gets an approval or will they just email it to me?? Please enlighten and hope to hear from people on the same boat I am at.Thanks.

Study the timelines for CR-1/IR-1 K-1, etc... All visa petitions are processing in the 5-6 month timeframe, I am seeing a few approvals for petitions filed back in July.

Should be any time now.

Correct me if I am wrong, but if you are trying to bring parent here, they can only be approved when a number becomes available, which could take years. It is not the same as a child (18 and under) or spouse where they are approved by the USCIS in 5 to 6 months.

Hello there! I am on a similar boat but my waiting time is not over 5 months yet. If you filed your I-130 in July 2010 for your parents and your case is being processed at California Service Center, I would suggest you call USCIS at 1-800-375-5283 because based on the info here, your case is outside current processing times: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.eb1d4c2a3e5b9ac89243c6a7543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=ddce0b89284a3210VgnVCM100000b92ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=ddce0b89284a3210VgnVCM100000b92ca60aRCRD

So you have all rights to call the National Customer Service Center toll-free number and request your case status update info.

I called that number myself a week ago (I had some questions on a another case which was apparently approved but they never updated the website and the NOA1 was lost since the petitioner moved and the address USCIS sent NOA1 was not correct). Anyway, I was able to reach out to a human being and she explained to me what happened. There was no way I could get this information if I did not call USCIS. So, please feel free to call and ask them all the questions and express all the concerns you have. They should respond to you at this point. Good luck! And please, if you get any information, share it with us because chances are we may be in the same situation some time later...

Good luck again!

Nope, you are wrong.

Only US Citizens can file a petition for a biological parent, this is the same as a spouse of a US Citizen, the parent will immediately get a visa number, as soon as case is approved by USCIS and moved to NVC. Note a citizen cannot file a petition for an in-law, only the son/daughter can file for a perent after they first become a US Citizen.

Hi there, I understand your frustration. I was hoping you will tell us that you got your NOA2. I saw a couple of approvals for September filers in CSC so I am upset that CSC transferred us to TSC and then CSC turned around and started processing September filers. It is not fair at all. Now, this waiting game is insane but can't do anything but wait. Please send our NOA2 now please.....:(

It's really frustrating as you guys said it! I finally spoke to their USCIS customer service and told me to wait after 30 days and call back again if I don't receive anything. She even mentioned that it seems outside the estimated timeline of processing for I-130 petition and should have the NOA2 by now. Anyway, my hands are pretty tied to do anything at this point but to just keep on waiting and hopefully some good news will come along in the next week or so..Goodluck to all of us and lets be in touch....Thanks.

Hi there!

Can you advice me with mine,my story is my grandfather filed a petition in the 90's to my father and his siblings since my granpa is an American citizen for being a veteran during the world war and just last year my father received his case number, unfortunately my granpa is already deceased and they told us that the petition is withdrawn for that matter. My question is can we reprocessed the petition since my father have relatives there in the US?.If any of you have the same story as ours pls give me some advices. Thanks much

I called them and they told me to contact back after 30 days ( this was last month my 5 month mark) and basically, I think they will forward this request to Texas center see what is going on and whats the hold up.

This 26th hitting my 6 month and no letter or notice since initial transfer to Texas back in NOV 3rd. In that letter they wrote reason for this transfer is to speed up the processing.
