No, it's not right. And yeah, I'd say there's a big difference between being mugged and being raped or sexually assaulted. Victims of sexual assault live with the supposed shame of what happened to them -- there is no shame in saying you've been mugged. None. But speaking up as a victim of sexual violence can be very difficult -- victims worry about being judged as a tramp, a #######, asking for it, an idiot for "not just leaving." There is so much shame and self-retribution that can occur for the victim. Do victims of muggings suffer? Yes. But as I said, there is no shame in getting mugged.

You make valid observations about the after effects of the crime, my comments never touched that I spoke of women putting themselves in harms way.... just as a person might foolishly wonder around in a bad area at night.

No one "deserves" or "asks" to be a victim but we are responsible for taking reasonable measure to protect ourselves.

Woman a meets a stranger or two at a bar... has a few drinks and goes off to a motel to party.... don't be surprised when two half drunk guys don't take "no" for an answer.

It's criminal, no doubt about it but she set herself up to be a victim.

None of them -- not one -- acted in a way that meant they somehow deserved it, whether by going home with the wrong guy (or guys), drinking too much or wearing provocative clothing. And even if they had done ALL of those things, no means no. Even you should know that. And how much fighting is necessary to pass your litmus test for maintaining one's virtue? A kick in the nuts? A gun in the assailant's face? All a person needs do to preserve one's "virtue" (utter hogwash) is to say "no."

Since you're an expert on crime, why don't you tell me a little bit about mob action? (And I don't mean the mafia, I mean a crime perpetrated by a large group of individuals.) I've very seldom seen a mob stopped by someone saying a single word.

First off, a gun in the assailant's face typically stops rapes dead in their tracks. That's a wonderful idea and I'm glad you're finally starting to warm up to guns and especially women using guns!

If a gun is not available I would think fighting tooth and nail would be the next best option. A kick in the nuts is a good suggestion too. Running and/or yelling would be a good thing to do.

My litmus test is this - did you exhaust every available option before you finally allowed yourself to be victimized?

I even made a comment or two on that thread about how a particular site implemented a JAIL THREAD to deal with "offenders"....But that site is so huge and is so full of scammers, stock pumpers, and other nonsense that there really are a ton of offenders so for that site it makes sense...Not sure it would work here...

This thread is designed to allow those members who get suspended a place to cool off, figure out what they did wrong, and eventually get out.

Instructions for those new to the Jail:

1) If you have gone to post and see the red alert saying "Your account has been suspended. You can only post to the Jail," then you are in the right place.

2) Check in here by posting a message to one of the Admins (a REPLY to a post made by one of the Admins).

3) Figure out what you did wrong (often, you already know).

4) Negotiate a deal and/or serve your time. Negotiate means acknowledge your violations and commit to abide by the rules of the site.

You can be here in two different scenarios:

1) We could be using the Jail as a temporary holding tank while you cool off and we get a few things straight (this is often the case)

2) We've thrown you in here because you are spamming, being a dolt, using multiple aliases, etc and you'll have to cut a deal with me and/or serve time.

Whatever you do, do NOT sign up for another account to circumvent your suspension.
