Are you suggesting we arm felons?

This is what baffles me about anti-gunners. They'll get all upset about "loose" gun laws because "then more criminals will have guns." Uh, hello, McFly... it's illegal for felons to possess guns. That's not going to change just because the rest of us can carry.

I am suggesting we have armed felons, morons, and guys with tiny Weenies trying to compensate.

I am nowhere near as antigun as you allege but reality apparently defies you. Guns can be dangerous and while this instance turned out apparently all to the good as far as it goes hard to tell how it will effect the future. I know I would prefer no gun play when I go out for a bite to eat.

We already have that.

I am nowhere near as antigun as you allege but reality apparently defies you.

What you don't realize is you are as antigun as I allege. Folks who believe we should only protect sporting arms or "some" guns don't realize they're paving the way to ban ALL guns.

I think you also fail to realize the importance of having arms capable of providing for the common defense. When you pass "common sense gun laws" in the name of public safety you waive our right to defend ourselves. If you were faced - unlikely as it may be - with a Red Dawn type scenario, would you rather have your grand-daddy's shotgun or an AK-47?

The 2nd Amendment was put in place for "what if" type scenarios because the framers faced a "what if" type scenario and intended for us to never have one again.

Guns can be dangerous and while this instance turned out apparently all to the good as far as it goes hard to tell how it will effect the future. I know I would prefer no gun play when I go out for a bite to eat.

I would prefer no gun play while out for a bite to eat too but if it's a choice between robbers shooting up the place and/or my sandwich artist killing the would-be robbers, well, that's an easy choice.

I'd prefer a world without nuclear weapons but we have to arm ourselves to destroy the world to guard against others who would destroy it.

Now you're getting it!
