Thanks! I knew about the 'How we met, when we met, etc.' part of the filing process, just didn't know it should be part of the Letter of intent. Makes sense though. So..if I add that info to MY Letter of intent...would that be enough? Can I still use her Letter, even though it is missing that info? Sorry, just want this to go smoothly and as quickly as I can manage. We are legit in love, and the only problem with this is the time it takes to receive mail from her. And the fact that she is Japanese and I'd feel a whole lot safer with her here! Grateful for any help.

All that USCIS requires is an answer to question #18. A petitioner whose beneficiary would be interviewing at a tough consulate (in essence, a U.S. consulate in any third-world country, some worse than others) can front-load the I-129F petition with additional information on the "how & where we met." Read your Regional Subforum and the Embassy Info / Embassy Reviews for specific recommendations.

In regard to the Letter of Intent, it can be headed "To Whom It Concerns:" and that's adequate. Obsessing over addresses or addressees is unnecessary and not productive. (I never write "to whom it MAY concern," because unless somebody will be specifically concerned, why write anything in the first place?)

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Thanks for the info!

I've been told by many that the more paperwork and info I send in with the I-129F the easier and faster the results.

What I have right now is...I-129F(completed).

Her 'Letter of Intent', basic, signed.

My 'Letter of Intent', basic, signed.

Her G-325A(Completed), signed.

My G-325A(completed), signed.

Photos and such, from time we met(2007)..to present(2011).

Passport type photos of each, in plastic bag, with names on back of photo and on bag.

The I-134(Completed)

And a typed page about our relationship.

Am I forgetting anything?

Where is your fiancee from?

April, 2009 - We met

May, 2009 - We wooed

June, 2010 - We got engaged, looking forward to a small August 2010 wedding

**5 months of patient waiting**

December 29, 2011 - call around for information about delay

January 5, 2011 - RFE notice (first online status update yet!)

January 10, 2011 - RFE Hardcopy

January 13, 2011 - RFE Response acknowledged

January 24, 2011 - NOA2 (at last!!)

February 3, 2011 - application sent from NVC to Montreal (aka. the Abyss?)

March 7, 2011 - Packet 3 sent to me

March 10, 2011 - Packet 3 delivered to Montreal

March 21, 2011 - Packet 4 sent to me

April 5, 2011 - Medical

April 13, 2011 - Interview - approved!

April 20, 2011 - visa in hand

May 9, 2011 - POE (Buffalo, NY)

May 10, 2011 - wedding :)
