My fiance has received his K1 visa in the mail which is valid until the end of April. However, my brother is getting married in February which is too soon for my fiance to come here for good....does anyone know if now that he has the visa, if he is able to enter the states for a couple of days without having to stay and start the process???? Please help!

Almost always the visa is activated at the next entry into the US. People from Canada have had mixed luck at the border. But if they fail to be allowed in without activating they can easily turn around. If your fiance gets to the immigration line and they say, you MUST activate it , what will you do ?

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Yeah, that's our dilemma...I thought maybe if he shows he has a return ticket and that the visa doesn't expire for another 3 months that it would be ok, but I guess you never know what they'll say at border control...and we don't want to mess anything up with the visa. I just wasn't sure what the exact regulations are for travel when you have received the visa. Thanks though!

The K1 is a one entry visa. I think it would be too risky for him to come to the US for the wedding and just hope that he is not activating it then, go back to the UK, then try to return to the US later with the K1 and be denied... You would have wasted so much time and money! In my eyes, it is not worth it.
