Hi All:

Just wanted to update you on our progress. Went to the local SSA office in Littleton, CO, on January 10th to get Roza her SSN. She arrived on December 22nd on a K-1 visa. We were married on December 30th, but she is keeping her madian name. Filled out the SS-5 form, took her passport, I-94 and translated birth certificate with us. Arrived at 13:15 and received our number to wait. About 15 minutes later our number was called and we went up to the window. "What can I do for you?" The lady asked. I tell her that we would like to apply for a social security number and hand her the SS-5 form. She asks for documentation and I hand over the passport with the I-94 in it. She begins to type...and type...and type...then she asks Roza if the information is correct and under the pentality of perjury supplying false information...sorry I wasn't paying much attention as at that moment I realized that in about 2 weeks she should have her social security card. YIPPPEEEEE!!

So it went very smoothly. Maybe they are getting the SSN system fixed to handle K-1 visas correctly. I am just glad that part is now over and we can get on with AOS once the SSN arrives.

Have a great day everyone.

Dave
