I didn't think it was possible to get to the Arrival Gate at LAX without an actual plane ticket.

My Fiance is arriving at LAX on China Airlines in a few days. I'm definetly going to park and go in the airport but do I just wait at the arrival gate or do i need to go to an immigration area? Will they want to interview me? She has my phone number but no phone that works here.

She will arrive, go thru immigration, proceed to luggage area just past entry area. Tell her to take a luggage cart to use for bags. Then ahead to customs check point. After customs she will proceed to next check point to turn in customs card.

She will simply take her luggage cart forward & up the ramp in front of her to the left. You can wait at the top of the ramp just outside the designated area. This is easy to find in the arrival area of the international terminal.

You are not interviewed.

Cell phones purchased in Thailand dont work in the USA. Best to try to relax & follow the proceedure.

You will wait in arrivals like everyone else.

Thanks for the reply. I've actually been through this process before, about fifteen years ago. I was married in thailand and flew with my wife to lax. I remember they had to take her and finger print her and i had to wait in a little waiting area. Since i had a connecting flight i asked how long the process would take and the officer threatend to put me and her in seperate rooms and ask us questions. He said if they didn't like the answers they would send her back. They were the biggest a-holes if every experienced. When they ask my wife to move into position so they could put her hand on the finger print pad. She didn't understand so the lady yanked on her arm. I couldn't believe how we were treated.

Thats why i ask about my fiance. Is she really just going to breeze through immigration just like everyone else. It sure wasn't that way 15 years ago. I would think it's worse.

She will come to the international terminal ( in the middle of the U of terminals ) When you get there you can enter at the arrival level and you will be on the top story. Once she has cleared everything she will come out of a hallway that ramps up to this level as an open area. Most people try to get to the railing to watch for their party to exit immigration . At the top of the ramp you are near the exit to the street.

Usually more crowded than the video

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

You wait in the waiting area at the International terminal and wait for them to exit from behind the large doors. You can not go to them until they are all through Customs and Passport Control. They will be totally on their own. Do they have a cell phone that will work in the US? And your number?

LAX, Tom Bradley International Terminal, Arrivals. Park in the many parking lots with with shuttle service surrounding the airport, or go directly into the parking structure at the airport. If ya wait about 2 hrs, it might cost about 20+ bucks parking in the structure, but worth it for the proximity from the terminal ti your car. But the shuttle service to the various A,B,C lots is very efficient and cheaper also. Bring her a warm jacket, flowers and a hug, and congratz!
